In a turn of events we ended up processing this flock by ourselves on the farm! It took a few days and lots of ice and sweat but we're pretty proud of how they came out ❤️💪

Made a super easy one-pan dinner a few nights ago so I thought I'd share!
*Spatchcocked chicken rubbed with pesto, pepper, and salt.
*Halfed brussels sprouts drizzled in olive oil and balsamic.
*In the oven at 350 for one hour
*Stovetop couscous on the side.

Don’t forget to pick your Basil flowers and flower buds off and cook with them tonight.

Not only do the buds and flowers contain more flavonoids than are in the leaves but if you allow your Basil plant to flower and go to seed, it will die.

Sunny weekend weather meant pops of strawberry red at Hayton Farms Berries!

Please be SO patient with our farmers this year - most folks haven't enjoyed the rain and cold, and they've been trying to GROW things in it. Everything is behind this season, but we love our farmers nonetheless!

Spring brought us a little surprise three days ago. Eleven beautiful baby ducklings!! Momma is doing amazing keeping them safe and warm 💕

We acquired five super cute new pullets due to lay next month from Buck Land Farms. They are novogen browns, no names yet but I want there to be a theme!
What should the theme be?

The meat birds have been loving the all you can eat buffet in the tractor, 60% of a birds diet has to be grains legumes and seeds, while the other 30% can be grasses and bugs they find in the pasture.
