Today is a very important day in the history of Buffalo IVF! 25 years ago we opened our doors to serve the Buffalo community and to help build families. From the beginning, we have provided cutting edge science to our patients with proven therapies and protocols to help reach their goals. We are grateful to serve not only Buffalo and its surrounding areas, but many other communities as well - some even as far away as California! We are honored that our patients continue to choose Buffalo IVF to provide care for themselves and for their growing families. We look forward to serving our patients and this community for many more years to come!

On June 19, 1865, freedom finally came for the 250,000 enslaved people of Texas. That day, which would become known as Juneteenth, the Army arrived to enforce what had already been the law of the land for two and a half years — the Emancipation Proclamation.

A vote is set to happen today of legislation introduced by Senator Charles Schumer that will protect and expand access to IVF. This legislation, if passed, will establish a nationwide right to receive, provide, and cover IVF therapy.

With roughly 10,000 babies born each year via IVF, Buffalo Infertility & IVF knows how important this bill would be for our patients and their families. Channel 7 journalist, Taylor Epps sat with our Nurse Practitioner Colby Damon to discuss this new bill and how it will provide much needed hope and access to care.

As we close out , we’re asking how can you leave your mark and help those fighting to build their families. Remember infertility is a disease, just like high blood pressure and diabetes. Awareness and advocacy from those who are struggling with fertility, along with their family and friends beside them can go a long way in .

04/25/2024

We will never stop fighting to break down the barriers surrounding fertility care and treatments. Supporting bills that promote pro-family legislation, can help those who are fighting to build their families.

🧡 Talk to HR and advocate for fertility benefits in your workplace.
🧡Write letters to your lawmakers in support of legislation for fertility coverage
🧡 Share the NIAW posts and encourage others to get involved.

It’s Wednesday of , wear your orange gear today in support of those experiencing infertility!!

04/23/2024

We will never stop supporting those who wish to pursue treatments to build their families. Here are some ways you can support someone going through treatments:

🧡 Avoid well-meaning-but unhelpful comments (example: just relax, it’ll happen!)
🧡 Be supportive and be there to listen
🧡 Don’t try to “fix” the problem
🧡 Ask what they need

These, and many more tips can be found on the website under the ‘Get Help’ tab

04/22/2024

Statistically, 1 in 6 people are affected by infertility and by sharing your story, you are helping others know they are not alone. Please know that it may not be the right time to share- and that’s ok! It’s an extremely personal decision if, when, and how you share your story.

Check out our ‘Staff Stories’ highlight where some of our staff (who are also former patients) have shared their fertility journey.

You are not alone. 🧡

Over the next few weeks, we’ll highlight this condition to help better understand its symptoms, causes and treatments.

A statement from Buffalo IVF regarding the recent Alabama court ruling:

We are disappointed to learn of the recent court ruling that changed the definition of an unborn child in Alabama. While this decision is limited to a single state, it is deeply concerning for anyone who helps build families through IVF.
We share the apprehension of patients who may lose access to care because of this ruling and send our support to our colleagues in Alabama.

Buffalo IVF will continue to deliver the highest standard of care for people who are seeking to build their families.

𖧷 Over the last few years medical, societal, and personal reasons have been cited as the catalyst for patients choosing planned fertility cryopreservation.

𖧷Planned oocyte & s***m cryopreservation provides an additional option for people facing loss of reproductive capacity the chance to have biologically related children in the future.

𖧷 ASRM recommends considering elective oocyte cryopreservation in your early 20s or 30s due to age related fertility decline. Or, if you will be undergoing HRT or Gonadotoxic therapy (such as testosterone or chemo).

𖧷 If you are considering fertility preservation, a fertility assessment is key to provide you with personalized information about your body and important factors like ovarian reserve, s***m counts as well as what to expect in terms of future outcomes.

If you would like to learn more about elective fertility preservation, please call the office to schedule a consult with one of our providers! For more information, check out the ASRM patient education resources: https://www.reproductivefacts.org/news-and-publications/fact-sheets-and-infographics/?s=title&r=SearchCategories[TOPICS%7eCryopreservation]
