Innovation Encounter

This fall marks Lawrence Tech’s 9th Annual Innovation Encounter. What is the Innovation Encounter, you ask? Well, each year a corporate sponsor presents collegiate teams with a real-world problem statement within their industry. Then, the teams have less than 24 hours to identify a solution, build a business case, and prepare a presentation for a panel of judges. (Kind of like design thinking meets Shark Tank) It is a great way to flex your innovation muscles and practice solving real-world issues in a professional, time-restricted setting. As an added bonus, the top three teams will be awarded prize money.

Teams are comprised of up to six students, and are not limited to just engineering students. Student teams can also have both undergraduate and graduate students. This year we have 8 open slots for teams to register.

Well, each year a corporate sponsor presents collegiate teams with a real-world problem statement within their industry. Then, the teams have less than 24 hours to identify a solution, build a business case, and prepare a presentation for a panel of judges.
