We are offering a class for all the young athletes that want to continue to train and get better this summer! Now is the time to work on body control, getting faster, building a strength base and staying conditioned for the upcoming seasons. This can be a great class for those kids who aren’t yet in sports either but would like to learn some fundamentals. All experience is welcome!

A hard truth: If you constantly give in to what feels good now or what’s comfortable you’ll never get to your goals. There’s going to be a gap between the work you put in and the results you see and during that time you have to continue to cultivate a delayed gratification mindset knowing that the daily habits you are creating will eventually take you to where you want to be verses instant gratification that will set you back if you continue to choose what is easy in the moment. It’s normal to fall back into your comfort zone but don’t get stuck there. Keep thinking of the goals you set and how your choices are going to get you closer!

While getting to the gym can be the hardest part for some, doing math can be the hardest part for others! We are here to make it easier! Here’s a quick guide to help you get the right amount of weight on your bars. Each total weight includes the 45lb barbell and then the amount of plates you need to add to EACH side. For example, if you are trying to bench press 145 lbs you would add 45 lb plates and 5 lb plates to both sides of the bar!

As trainers, people often assume that working out is easy for us. That we enjoy being in pain and we are always motivated to do so. Today was a great example of why this is not true at all. None of us wanted to workout today, none of us were motivated, and we definitely didn’t want to do this workout! This is why discipline trumps motivation. We knew what we had to do so we did it, despite all the excuses we had not to. We challenge you to learn to be disciplined and stop relying so much on motivation. Yes, it’s easier said than done but you gotta start somewhere. It’s a mindset!c.crellin

W.O.W. Women on weights! This class specializes in women who want to get back in the gym or need help starting their gym journey. MJ focuses on strength, balance, stability and also how to use different weight machines. Class starts at 10am MWF.
Let’s talk habits! Getting to the gym isn’t easy for everyone and motivation isn’t the most consistent way to arrive. We must create healthy habits and a routine. A habit consists of three parts: an environmental cue, a behavioral response, and a reward. You must continue to reinforce and be intentional with each part! For example choose something you do everyday (get home from work), this is your environmental cue. Then start to use that to remember to respond with something that will set you up for success such as going straight to your room and changing into workout clothes. The more effort you put into going straight into your room before doing anything else will start to create a regular habit that you eventually won’t have to think about. The last piece is the reward. Sometimes the feeling after working out is enough but if it’s not you can treat yourself to a healthy post workout snack or smoothie, or getting to watch an episode of your favorite show when you get home etc. Start to stack a healthy habit to something you already do each day and watch yourself change your life!!
