IV) A Scoutmaster's Reward:

A man once dared to tell me that he was the happiest man in the world! I had to tell him who was still happiest: which was me.
- There is no need to assume that any of us in achieving this happiness has never faced difficulties in achieving it. Rather, happiness only comes with difficulties.
- One's satisfaction in facing these difficulties and enduring their effects leads one to success, which increases this pleasure and pushes one to overcome them.
- Don't expect your life to be a bed of roses, there will be no fun in it if it is.
So in your dealings with scouting, you are bound to face disappointments and setbacks, so you have to be patient. There are a number of people who destroy their work or career due to lack of patience, as they are more likely than those who destroy it through drinking alcohol or other vices. You will have to bear with patience the annoying criticisms, and bureaucratic work to some extent, but your reward will come.
-The satisfaction which comes to a scoutmaster from trying to do his duty at the cost of self-denial, and from developing the characters of the boys in his charge to give them a different position in life, all bring such a reward as cannot be defined in writing.
- It is the reality of working to prevent the recurrence of those evils which, if allowed to continue, will soon lead to the rotting of our youth, and thus the collapse of society.
This is the spirit in which Scoutmaster, commissioners, committee members, trainers, organisers, secretaries - and the word 'Scout' describes them all - operate in the Scout Movement.
The organization and spread of the Scout Movement is due to this army of volunteer workers, and it is a wonderful, if silent, evidence of the beautiful patriotic spirit that lies beneath the surface of most nations. These men give up their time and energies, and often their money as well, to work in organizing and training the boys, without any idea of ​​reward or praise for what they do, do it for the love of their country*.

* The scouting movement is a voluntary movement, and volunteerism is considered the fuel that ignites this movement. It varies according to a person’s faith and the concepts of the society in which he resides. The society in which we live considers what a person does of voluntary work to be for the sake of Allah.
