With session 1 of orientation all wrapped up, we are excited and ready to welcome session 2 this evening. Thank you so much to our new Zags and orientation leaders for bringing campus to life this summer!

Introducing NSFP’s Student Office Assistant, Ellie! She’s one of the awesome people on the other end of the phone when you call our office. Some of her favorite memories from her first year include roomie megabed, after-class walks on the Centennial Trail, concerts, hammocking with friends, and the famous Kennel Campout.

Ellie is great at answering any questions new Zags and their may have, and she is always happy to be a helpful hand in navigating the huge transition to college. ❤️💙

Say hello to Makena! She is your Student Events Coordinator, and she is so excited to welcome all of our new Zags and . Here are some of her favorite moments from her first year as a Zag.

Makena’s passion for helping first year students feel like they belong makes her the perfect person for planning Welcome Weekend and Zagfest, along with some other awesome events, which means that she and Kendall work together often (and are also the best of friends). If you see her around during Orientation, be sure to give her a big high five and a smile!💙❤️

Good morning Zags and Zag families! This is Kendall, your Parent & Family Events Coordinator, and here are some of her favorite memories from her first year! It was filled with basketball, friends, rugby, and GU theater.

Kendall is the incredible person behind making sure that families of new zags feel welcomed into the and have an amazing time at parent & family orientation! She also assists in planning zagfest, other welcome weekend events, and fall family weekend. 💙❤️

For Friday Oct. 7th:
Fall Family Social on Herak Quad & Foley Field sponsored by 4 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

Spike Nights BINGO in Hemmingson Ballroom 8 p.m. -9 p.m.

For Saturday October 8th:
Pep Rally on Herak Quad featuring performances from Gonzaga Cheer, Dance Team, ALAS, and Bomb Squad from 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Kraziness in the Kennel: 4 p.m. -5:15 p.m.

TWO weeks until Orientation! Most academic schedules for the Fall 2022 semester should be available for viewing through ZagWeb. If you haven’t already, download the GU Mobile App! Link is in our bio.

Payment for the 2022 Fall semester is due TODAY! Health clearance and final submission for transcripts and AP/IB scores are due TOMORROW. Make sure to get these done and look through your checklists for more upcoming due dates. Campus is buzzing with excitement about the next few weeks... we can't wait to have you all here!

Our final Core Team spotlight is Claire Barrett (She/Her), our Student Leader Coordinator. Claire is a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Biology from Prescott, Arizona. Claire is in charge of hiring and training the student volunteers that lead orientation weekend. She is looking forward to welcoming incoming students and their families, as well as helping current and new students create connections with each other and the community at Gonzaga. Our next Core Team spotlight is Ashley Schoultz (She/Her), our Marketing & Communications Coordinator. Ashley is a freshman Psychology/Pre-Health major & Spanish minor from Denver, Colorado. Ashley manages NSFP’s social media accounts and management platforms, as well as designs marketing plans for student leader hiring, orientation programs, and Fall Family Weekend. She is looking forward to planning a fun and engaging orientation for the new Zags in Fall 2022, as well as getting to know them and assisting them in their transition to GU. Our next Core Team spotlight is Belle Asplund-Wain (She/Her/La), our Operations Coordinator. Belle is a junior double majoring in Economics and Math with a minor in journalism from West Seattle. Belle oversees New Student Orientation and Fall Family Weekend events by making sure everything runs smoothly through monitoring and evaluating goal progression both in operational and student involvement. She is most looking forward to providing the best, most inclusive, and fun orientation experience that incoming Zags could have hoped for. Anisia is a junior from Tacoma, Washington, and is a Sociology major with a minor in Critical Race & Ethnic Studies (CRES). Anisia plans and coordinates events for New Student Orientation/Fall Family Weekend and oversees the development and implementation of pre-orientation programs. Anisia says "Working for NSFP is totally out of my comfort zone! I’m looking forward to challenging myself, making new friends, and kicking off my senior year with New Student Orientation hoping to create a great introduction to GU for the first-years." Over the next few weeks we will be introducing our 2022-23 Core Team members, who serve as representatives for Gonzaga’s Orientation Weekend and Fall Family Weekend in the New Student & Family Programs Office. Guiding Gonzaga’s new students, the Core Team works with assisting first year, international, transfer, veteran, returning adult students, and families in their transition to GU.
