The faculty and staff of Foley Library gathered in celebration of National Library Week, April 23-29.
This year’s theme is “There’s more to the story”, so each employee brought something that tells part of their library story. From story books and games, to smart phones and laptops, to the shipping bins we use to ship the popular Summit book requests (if you know you know, if you don’t checkout the link in our instagram bio), the library story encompasses diverse resources and services!

November is Native American Heritage Month!
From the National Congress of American Indians website:
"November is Native American Heritage Month. The month is a time to celebrate rich and diverse cultures, traditions, and histories and to acknowledge the important contributions of Native people. Heritage Month is also an opportune time to educate the general public about tribes, to raise a general awareness about the unique challenges Native people have faced both historically and in the present, and the ways in which tribal citizens have worked to conquer these challenges."
Check out the display of books and films curated with the Native American Cultural Center/scintxw on the main floor of Foley Library, to the east of the information desk. The display will be up through November!

AAPI Heritage month is a chance to celebrate how Asian and Pacific Islander culture is woven into our national fabric and during which we celebrate the Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders whose rich heritage has shaped the history of the United States while having their lives dramatically influenced by moments in its history.
In recognition of AAPI Heritage month here is a photo taken from the first Hawaiian Club luau, which was held in the COG on May 2, 1965. Authentic Hawaiian food and dance were offered to the attendees.
