🚫🦌 PSA: Leave Baby Fawns in the Wild! 🦌🚫

White-tailed Deer fawns are born April through July, with most arriving in June. These adorable babies are often left in tall grass or bushes, and sometimes in open areas like backyards. Mother deer (does) return at dawn and dusk to feed and move their young.

If you find a fawn, remember: being alone doesn't mean it's orphaned!

❗️DO NOT “KIDNAP” A FAWN❗️

Instead, check if any of the following apply:

-It is bleeding, has an open wound, or a broken bone.
-It’s covered in fly eggs (look like small grains of rice).
-It’s cold or wet.
-It’s crying nonstop for hours on end.
-It appears weak AND is lying on its side.

If you answer YES to any of these, the fawn may be injured or orphaned. Contact your nearest permitted wildlife rehabilitator or Animal Control for help. Do not give the baby food or water! Never chase a fawn to capture it.

Hey there im still taking appointments and would love to meet some new fur babies. Im used to just about everything!

I wonder if my squirrel is trying to warn me of a bad winter or she just lost her mind. She is coming inside like 3 orb4 timed a dayband if im not thete with food she will either destroy my room looking or go through the kitchen from the front porch to see if anyone is cooking or left the door open . lol this is ten times more then normal plus she will come im and out 30 times if we leave out a bowl for her. Something she has never been so obsessed with and is taking them somewhere else instead of eating them. This is how i was woken up today.

I'm taking appointments for small dogs and some small animals as well. Ferrets, guinea pigs or bunnies needing a nail trim? No problem, wanna fresh ferret or guinea pig? I can do that as well. And of course cats are welcome too!

This girl is Coco and she is a great girl who has been with me her entire life and through many years of visiting at multiple shops! These days I am very excited to see her adorable smiles after her grooming is finished in her own home.

I have been in the industry for a long long time and I was able to get a good relationship with many people who are on fixed incomes. Sometimes you are not able to drop off your own pets at a local shop and have a flea bath done. So I can not hold back on the information I have been able to learn along the way.

Also I have to point out the fact that any time you have a flea bath done at any place I know of , which is more places then I can count. Flea bath done at shops will be fine for the fleas currently on the pet. They NEVER stop the fleas in the pets environment from returning to the animals as soon as they are home. This is not to say that the bath is not important but it is more about how to get the complete control of pest in the pets environment.

While we are bathing a pet with living fleas we are going in a particular way for a overall quality experience with no fleas hiding in certain areas. A good salon is not going to have even one escape from a pet and it will be happy to jump on whoever is around and I can not stress the fact that we are not going to be happy with a furry friend catching a lose flea . We are going to have to rebathe a pet who is suspected to have a risk of cross contamination.

So This is what you want to look for at a local shop. You are going to want to be upfront with the staff and then I will say that the pet is going directly to the tub. Going to a waiting room or crate for a little bit is not going to happen at a good shop. They are not going to have a risk of sharing the freeloaders. Lol They are going to be able to get the correct product for the pet and start the beginning of the process. We are always going. is what cost you a few dollars extra dollars. We are always going to be looking for a good experience and we will want to see a happy owner. I have a habit of spending a lot of time with owners and want to see the pet parents and always wanted to get the most info on the areas of concern for each of them and they are all happy to be able to ask for the information from someone that has been in the grooming world.

Since I have been going through it all from the point of view of getting it done at the location of your choice and I don't want to see something missed by having it so far down the post I will be listing the steps to use if you want to see if you can get it done by yourself.

It's flea season and it's not so easy to kill them once they get into the house and yards. They are notorious for not being willing to die easy. After the flea bath we then we will have to get the home and any other areas of concern for fleas treated as well. Below is some of the information I have been able to learn from years of experience with animals and in grooming. If we are able to get the information from someone who wants to help them why not share it, am I right? Lol

It's that time of year again and fleas are going to be heavy in a lot of areas. While you are going to need to treat all areas of your home and yard if possible it starts with the pet themselves.
Means a proper flea bath done before or during the rest of the treatment of concern for your pet to be free of fleas before you let them go into the treated home. It's not something that most people who have not been trained for and fleas are notorious for being very difficult to kill.

Did you know that fleas are able to hold their breath while submerged in water?
They are also very good at hiding in the worse places and they are going to be in the ears and eyes on the pet. Hiding on private areas as well. Anywhere else that is not recommended for a chemical flea product to get into. This means you have to have a few areas in mind when you get the pet into the bath.
Also they are not going to be dead for at least ten minutes of soaking in undiluted flea products.
What about puppies or kittens who are not old enough to be using most flea products? Also applies to small animals like ferrets, bunnies, and rats or anything else that is furry and has contact with fleas while out playing or even just saying hi to a lose pet like a friendly cat or dog?
Well I have a good way to get the living fleas off of them as well. Original blue dawn is safe to use for the removal of fleas in the bath . Now I'm not saying that they are going to die easy but using the recommended steps to get the entire pet covered in the soap and let soak for 15mins when you are able and at least 10 for pets that are not able to go the entire time.
In both cases you are going to be waiting for the product to do the job. You can wrap up the pet with a towel if you're not able to stand or anything like that or for pets who are not going to be still. This means you have a extra towel but it will have the lose dead fleas on it after so it's a good way for you to visualize the problem. Even a few moving fleas are possible to get a good idea of how hard it is to kill the little buggers.

With experience gained from more then 2 decades of being in the industry. I've been in the industry for close to 25 years but it's grooming I was most Interested in.
