Every year at this time I have “Splitsmas” for my creative core or flow class. That day is tomorrow. I can not personally do the splits, and don’t think you have to either. It’s just my clever way of saying, “let’s stretch out those hamstrings.” See you tomorrow 9:15am.

Children's Yoga: Overview on how to integrate yoga into your classroom or at home
(for parents, educators and yoga teachers)
I am a Registered Children's Yoga teacher and has taught in a private school The Summit Preparatory School for 3 years as a specials teacher ages 3-5th grade. I will teach you an overview of Children's yoga and how you can incorporate it seamlessly into your daily routine in the classroom or at home. Topics covered will be Breathing Exercises, Movements for Children, Yoga Games, Rest/Meditation, and Mindfulness Crafts. You will experience an actual Children's Yoga class at the end of this workshop, so be ready to channel your inner child and let yourself have some fun.
Room will not be hot. Bring a yoga mat (or we have a few to rent for $3).

2020 vs 2023 Mobility work takes time, but it’s worth it. Most of my private clients want stretching and mobility help. I’ve been trying to add this more into my personal practice.

I teach children’s yoga as well as adults and sometimes you have to be creative. This week, my students worked on balance and to bring the message home, we balanced rocks. Not as easy as it looks but it captured their undivided attention (not easy) and we had fun while learning.

Hello old friend… meet the Dolce. (Yes, my bike and I share a name, that’s why I bought it). The last time this bike wasn’t garage art was 15 years ago, almost exactly, when I completed a Half Ironman Triathlon (1.2m swim, 56m bike, 13m run) in Florida- pregnant with my now 14 year old son. Kids tend to be fun sponge’s sometimes, so this beauty was parked until today. I put on my clip shoes, and went for a ride with and had a blast. Everyone needs to diversify their workouts and yoga is a big part of my wellness but this felt so good.

Alaska is a gorgeous place. The sun shines this time of year more than the darkness. The salmon are fresh and running. Family is having fun. Happy soul.
Morghan said “try this funky transition” and I thought I’d make a blooper for a good laugh. Tight hamstrings and low back do make this more difficult. Have fun though!
