Jewish Federations are devastated at the news that Hamas has killed six more hostages, among them the American Hersh Goldberg-Polin z”l, whose story we have come to know so well through the tireless advocacy of his parents Rachel and Jon.

Our hearts are with their families and loved ones, may they be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem. We pray that the remaining hostages will soon be returned home safely.

As many of you may know, this group is calling on River Valley Co-Op to remove seven Israeli-made products from their shelves and to cease purchasing Israeli products in the future. River Valley Co-Op has indicated that they might offer non-Israeli alternatives alongside the current brands, allowing members to make their own choices. Read more here: https://ow.ly/SroK50TaUeo. It's crucial that our community's voices are heard on this matter. You can take positive action by writing a letter to the editor, reaching out to River Valley Co-Op, or sharing your thoughts with friends and neighbors. You can also show your support by purchasing Israeli products at River Valley Co-Op. Every purchase makes a statement, and we can use our voices for good!

We especially appreciate Mike, Sara, and their son Betzalel for their warm hospitality. A big thank you as well to our special guest speakers and Ronda Parish, the Israel Emergency Campaign Chair, for their invaluable contributions. During the gathering, we shared an insightful presentation on how supporting the Israel Emergency Campaign through the Federation is making a difference for our core partners in Israel during these critical times. We were also fortunate to hear from two special guests from Israel via Zoom, who shared their personal experiences of October 7th and its ongoing impacts. We are also grateful to those who contributed to the Israel Emergency Campaign at the event. If you would like to support this vital cause, please visit https://ow.ly/Eq2L50TafmA.
