Meet our fearless leader! Carla is a graduate of Professional Massage Training Center, Class 35, year 2005. After graduating massage school, she sought a deeper understanding of the anatomy and function of the human body at Ozarks’ Tech Community College in Springfield, Missouri. In addition to school, Carla spent 10 years as a Certified Nurses’ Assistant. Working with patients in many diverse settings including nursing homes, home health, private duty nursing and hospice. She then went on to work as a clinical instructor at Professional Massage Training Center, where she also studied Neuromuscular Therapy and worked to receive her Master Certification in Medical Massage. Shortly after, she would launch her full time private massage practice in June of 2012. Carla has studied a variety of techniques from both eastern and western practices and employees many modalities and techniques specific to her clients needs at the time of treatment. She has clocked 28,000 hours in therapeutic massage, won Best of Springfield for 3 years running and is passionate about helping clients to be the best version of themselves! Job description - Massage Therapists are responsible for treating clients through soft tissue manipulation while maintaining a safe and therapeutic experience. The therapist should have good communication skills regarding client wishes and desired outcome through spoken language, body language and other cues and modifying their treatments accordingly. They will report to the owner of the business.

Here are some of the duties and responsibilities of our massage therapists.

* Provide 60-120 minute massages to clients by appointment
* Take a detailed client history and note any health conditions
* Evaluate clients to determine painful or stressed areas of the body
* Advise clients on stretching, strengthening or relaxation methods
* Suggest future massage appointments and regime to clients
* Listen to clients during appointments and adjust technique if needed
* Sees clients to the front desk with water
* Writes detailed soap notes
* Cleaning their work space between clients and at the end of each shift

Qualifications

Missouri State Massage License (A provisional license will be accepted for recent graduates)

My name is Megan Downing LMT. I would like to introduce myself.

I went to massage school in 2003 at Sister Rosalind Gefre Massage School in Saint Cloud, MN. I know that this path I have taken has been a gift in so many ways.

Since then I have worked in Minnesota, Texas, Kansas and now Missouri. I have had my own practice, worked with coorperate, small business, disabled children and worked with chiropractors. I have enjoyed every opportunity of my journey.

Since practicing massage therapy I have learned many techniques. I administer cranial sacral therapy, myofascial release, therapeutic massage, lymphatic drainage, reflexology, sports massage, and prenatal massage. My overall goal is to include all treatments as needed during your sessions.

I love helping you find holistic healing. Our bodies are connected physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. When I massage you I speak Life (bless you, pray for you, and declare truth over you) and use my hands to bring healing into all the misaligned, blocked, and broken areas in your body.

In my free time I enjoy being with my family remolding, gardening, weight training, and volunteering at the church where my heart is for women and youth.
