We have a 2 year apprenticeship available as a medical office specialist to begin immediately. Instead of paying tuition for this training you will earn an hourly wage throughout the apprenticeship!

Job responsibilities will include greeting patients and visitors, scheduling patient appointments, keeping patient records, transcribing dictation, handling phone calls and mail, computing daily deposits, and managing day to day office operations. You will also be cross trained to assist with patient care.

Additionally, by the completion of the program, you will understand the differences in insurance companies/Medicare and how they work, how to determine and explain patient benefits, what is required to obtain pre certification, what is required to be documented in the medical record, how insurance contracting works and what are fee schedules, how CPT and ICD-10 medical coding works.

If you enjoy helping others and working in a professional environment then this position could be for you! Applicants should have good communication skills and be able to type 55-65 wpm.
