First Grade had a delightful Halloween party!

Yesterday, 2nd grade and 7th grade buddies got together to build SKELETONS! ☠️💀
Hickory Glen invited 2nd grade over to trick or treat. The children enjoyed seeing their book buddies. Thank you, Hickory Glen!
Several Challenge classes (grades 3, 4, and Kindergarten) got in the spirit of Halloween this week by making bubbling potions and channeling their inner Frankenstein by bringing their own monster hands to life!
Kathy Lamsargis came to sign her book Marbles in a Fish Bowl for us today! What a great story!

From October 3 to November 31, 2024, Christ the King School Little Flower Catholic School St. Agnes School and St. Aloysius School will compete to see who can collect the most donations for the Catholic Charities Holy Family Food Pantry!
These donations will help the pantry provide those in need with essential food through the holiday season.
The winning school gets $500, and their students get treats from Pease’s. Good luck to all of our competing schools!

Our Kindergarten pumpkins had THE best day exploring Pumpkin Creek Farms and learning how pumpkins grow. I’m not sure if they liked the wheel races, burying each other and maybe a teacher in the corn bin, tasting cider and donuts, or picking out pumpkins the most. What do you think?

Catholic Charities St. John's Breadline serves up delicious freshly-made soups to-go including chili, chicken noodle, or vegetable beef soup at the Souper Friday fundraiser.
We will also be accepting donations of clean plastic bags with no rips, or plastic takeout containers (16-40 ounce to go, tight-fitting lid; no glass, Styrofoam, nut, or meat containers) for the Breadline during the event.
The event will be held at the Catholic Pastoral Center circle driveway, 1615 W Washington Street, Springfield, IL on Friday, November 1, from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. or until sold out.
Way to go St. Agnes! Good job this week bringing in food for the drive. Let’s keep it up and fill the carts!
In this week's ranking of the 8th Annual Super Food Drive Challenge, St. Agnes is pulling ahead to first place! There are two weeks left in the challenge, so keep pushing, everyone!
The drive will run through October, and the winning school will receive treats from Pease's and $500 from Peerless Cleaning & Restoration Services.
Each year, this event helps us provide Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for hundreds of Springfield families.
What a great day the Cross Country team had at State! The girls took 4th overall and boys took 19th!! Wow! What a great end to a great season.

Today we had a pep rally to cheer on our Cross Country team who is going to State tomorrow! Help us wish them luck!

On Friday 2nd grade used the engineering skills they learned about in science to build structures out of spaghetti and marshmallows. The tallest building that stood on its own was 25 centimeters tall.
Friday morning we held an assembly for Student Council candidates to give speeches for their campaign. They all did such a great job! Their love of St. Agnes was really on display.
We are STATE BOUND! Boys and girls both took 2nd place at Sectionals in Rushville this morning
