McKillips Tax Service
Family owned and operated tax business. Specializing in personal and small business taxes.
From now til the start of the next tax season, we will still be in the office, but it will not be set hours. Feel free to leave a voicemail if you don't catch us in the office, or even better, shoot us an email at [email protected]. Contact us if you need to set up an appointment.
Another year bites the dust! Our family owned small business thanks all of our clients for their support and kind words. As crazy as tax season gets, we love being able to see and work with such great people everyday. We filed over 1600 tax returns this year so I think you understand why we take a little time off now. You can reach us again after May 1. Happy Tax Day!
We have A LOT of returns waiting for pickup. If you have been contacted that your return is ready, please make arrangements for pickup. Every return that is not picked up by Saturday at 2 pm, we will file an extension and you can call after May 1st to pick them up. Please note, if you owe, taxes and penalties will be accruing beginning April 15th.
Good morning! We officially have no appointment times left on our schedule and the deadline is quickly approaching.
Existing clients: If you haven't gotten your info to us, you may want to put some pep in your step. If we don't receive it by Monday, we can't guarantee it will be done in time. Let us know if you would like an extension to file.
If we have never done your taxes and you need an extension, reach out by phone 636-946-2616. We are not accepting new clients at the moment but we can still do an extension for you.
We are amazed at how quickly this tax season is flying by!
For our established clients, who have forgotten (we get it!), or have been procrastinating (we, also, get it!)- please make sure to get your stuff in as soon as possible! (Or let us know if you need to file an extension)
Our last date to accept returns will be April 8th.
This will ensure there is enough time to complete the return before the April 15th filing deadline.
Reminder- we have a secure drop box on the front porch and an online portal you can upload documents to. If you need help with the portal- send us an email [email protected] and we would be happy to assist you!
Going forward for the remainder of the tax season, we are closing the office on Fridays in order to do housecalls to the homebound and to get caught up on our workload. As always, our locked drop box is outside the front door. Updated hours: Mon-Thurs 9-5 and Sat 9-2.
One thing we love- referrals! Having people recommend us is how our business has grown since 1968! It's the biggest form of flattery we could ask for.
Unfortunately, at this time, we are not taking on any new clients (that we haven't already talked to). If we did you taxes last year, you are not new and are welcome to still get your taxes done. Hopefully next year we will be able to take on more new clients, but for this year, we need to focus on the current clients we have. Thanks for supporting our family business!
We are closed this friday, March 8th, for housecalls.
If you received our letter through your email…We unfortunately did not bcc the addresses. So sorry for this mistake!
Preparing 1099's. If you need them, please email us the information.
Your favorite tax ladies are attending Update classes to be ready for the 2023 tax season. Office opens Jan 22. Can’t wait to see or talk to you then!
The deadline for efiling this year is November 18th.
If you filed an extension, the deadline is Oct 15. I will not be available the last week of August or the last 2 weeks of September.
Also, if you receive an email from the IRS about another stimulus payment, it is a scam.
We are officially done. BIG shout out to Erin, Tara and Lizzy. This job is overwhelming and very stressful! They made it smooth sailing for me. I can't thank them enough.
I will reopen May 1st after getting some needed sleep and rest.
Thank you to our amazing clients. We love seeing you every year.
ONE WEEK! Just a couple of things...
If you still intend on getting your info to us to file on time, we need you to get it to us by Wednesday at 5pm. If that is not a possibility, we will happily file an extension for you. Just shoot us an email at [email protected] or call the office 636-946-2616.
People who have dropped off their info and haven't picked up yet, we need you to make sure you take care of it this week. We are here today thru Thursday 9am-5pm and then 9am-2pm on Friday and Saturday.
Thanks!!
Reminder our office will be closed tomorrow, March 31. If you plan on using our services and have not gotten your information to us, please do so as soon as possible to ensure we have enough time to complete the return and you have enough time to find anything you are missing...(not that that ever happens, right? HA!). You can drop off your information anytime (we have the locked drop box outside the front door if it's outside our office hours) or you can use the portal to electronically get items to us. Call the office if you need any help!
In case it slipped your mind, we have less than 4 weeks of the tax season. If you have yet to get your information to us and are still planning on doing so, you may want to round it up and drop it off soon to ensure we have enough time to get it ready for you! Don’t wait til the last minute to file. You have until April 18 to pay regardless of when you file your paperwork.
We will be out of the office March 10th for house calls. We will return on March 11th.
Letters have gone out. If you didn't receive one, let me know. We could have a bad email address.
Happy new year!! Hope it’s a great one for everyone. Letters will be going out this week.
We have changed our email address. It is now [email protected]. The other address is still good, but we plan on getting everything switched over to this new email. As a reminder, we will not be opening attachments unless you have called and talked to us.
Also, this week is the last week to get your 2021 taxes done. The deadline is Oct 17 for filing, but if you want them filed on time, we need your information by Oct 14th.
If you filed an extension, due date is October 15th. The office will be closed the first week of September.
If you receive a letter from the IRS stating you have not made your payment for taxes due but you did, please know you are not alone. All you need to do is send that letter back to the IRS with your proof of payment.
IRS destroyed 30M paper information returns due to backlog The Internal Revenue Service decided to destroy an estimated 30 million paper-filed information return documents in March 2021 because of its inability to process its backlog of paper tax returns, according to a new report.
Thanks to our awesome clients. It was a good year. We will be taking some well deserved time off. The office will reopen the first week of may.
Tomorrow morning our office will be open for 5 hours to wrap up the 2021 tax season. We still have over 100 people who we have completed (or still trying to get the last info to finish) and are waiting for pickup. Because of that, we want to remind everyone of just a few things-
-It does not matter when you file your taxes (even if it’s in January); if you owe the IRS or state money, that money is not due until April 18. That means that people who wait til the end to file bc they know they owe don’t need to do so.
-It’s super important to make sure we have a current phone number and email address. We prefer to email for questions and when it’s ready for pickup bc of the sheer number of people. To make sure you get our emails, please add our address to your contact list.
-We work very hard to get your return completed in a timely manner. When you get it back please review it and sign the form to give us permission to file your taxes.
If your return is ready and you want it filed by the deadline, you need to come in and pickup between 9am and 2pm or call the office for other arrangements. Please remember we do not answer the phone while clients are there to give them our full attention. And thank you for your patience as we strive to get everyone taken care of in time 😊
You may have heard that you are supposed to keep your gas receipts when you put gas in your car. Want to know why? It is not attached to income taxes (aka we don’t need them for your taxes). See the letter for more details.
This Tuesday, April 12th, is the last day we are accepting tax returns. After Tuesday, can file an extension for you and we will work on your taxes after May 1st when we get back from time off.
We are closed for house calls April 1st. Will reopen April 2nd at 9 am.
Deadline is approaching. If you want us to do your taxes, we need to have them by April 10th.
