Momma Maple is still ever so patiently waiting for her forever home... Maple is the last from her hoarding group that came in on 8/30!! That's 130 days she's been here with no interests. 😞 Maple is very shy at first and takes just a while to warm up but when she does she's such a love bug! She loves to lay on you and loves to chit chat! She would be best in a single animal, low energy home but she would be all you need! She just needs a chance!

Douglas Fir is looking for his furever home. He is currently in a foster home and lives with other cats and dogs. He would love a home with another playful cat he can wrestle and roll around with. Douglas is kid approved and loves everyone he meets.
Please call 636-255-6400 to set up a meet and greet or message our page.

King Chevy has found his new family!
They have been following his journey and keeping updated on his progress. Today they brought their two pups to meet him, one of which is also a tripod.
He will be going home this weekend as a foster to adopt just to make sure all the dogs get along as planned.

King Chevy’s medical foster mom has been amazing along the way and we are so thankful he had such a loving and fun home after surgery. Fostering makes a huge difference ♥️

Stay tuned for updates in the near future!

After nearly 300 days of waiting, our longest resident went home today. 🥳 Ta**us held a very special place in staffs heart. We were amazed she was with us for so long.
She needed to be the only pet and has your typical ”cattitude” tendencies but we knew the perfect home was out there for her. Her adopter came a long way to meet her and it didn’t take long before they decided to make it official.
We will miss having her be our daytime office kitty but now she will have a whole house to herself with a human that will spoil her like the princess she is.
It warms our hearts that our TT will have a home for Christmas! ❤️ 🐾

A huge thank you to Paula for the lovely fleece blankets! She brings us blankets and handmade beds and they are always a shelter favorite.

A huge thank you to Kay for a large variety of goodies. Kay brings us cat food on occasion and said she wanted to make sure Santa didn’t forget the dogs this Christmas.

We are so thankful❤️

Rico is as handsome as he is sweet❣️
This 1 year old Shepard/pit mix is ready for his forever home who will be sure to take many pictures of his handsome self.

Rico gets along with other dogs 90% of the time but does have some food/resource guarding towards them when inside a home. He would be best as the only dog unless adopters are knowledgeable and willing to train to fix this.
He is good with all humans including kids and is very well potty trained. He could use some basic training but has perfected “sit” and obviously “look pretty”.
He doesn’t seem to mind cats.

Come meet him tomorrow , Saturday, 10-3!
We will be closed the following 3 days so this boy would love to find his home before then.

For more info message or call 636-255-6400.

These 4 lucky girls went to Five Acres Animal Shelter today!
Twinkle Toes and Spud, two orange ladies, were from one of our indoor hoarding cases a while back. They were almost slated for barn homes but with plenty of TLC and canned food, they showed us they love attention. We can’t wait to watch them grow even more and find their forever homes.

Maxine, the black colored cinnamon roll, was hunting her own food and avoiding busy highway traffic off highway 94 for who knows how long! A caring person finally trapped her and she clearly was much happier being indoors with comfy cat beds. She will thrive in any home.

Penne, the beautiful dilute tortie, was found with her 3 babies outside a residents house. We suspect someone dumped her little family to fend for themselves as they just randomly showed up one day. Penne is such a loving girl who has the personality to match her looks.

We have all the hope that these ladies will find their forever homes in time for the holidays and we give a huge thank you to Five Acres Animal Shelter!

Thank you for all the goodies this last week! Our shelter cats and dogs were very happy to check it all out ♥️

Every kiss begins with ✨ KAY ✨
Our sweet girl Kay seems to get overlooked simply because she’s so calm and quiet in her kennel.
She’s an affectionate girl who would love to find a home before Christmas. Due to her calm nature, we think she would acclimate well to other pets and children with a proper introduction.
We estimate her to be 2-3 years old. If you want a quiet couch potato, Kay is the one for you! Come by the shelter to meet her for yourself.

294 days since this handsome boy walked through our shelter doors.
Today is a bitter sweet goodbye as Ziggy is onto his rescue sanctuary, Precious Diamonds Rescue & Sanctuary.
Ziggy hit the road today, bright eyed and bushy tailed at 6:30am. He has a 10 hour ride ahead of him and we know he will be smiling the whole way there.
Ziggy is going to be spoiled and get to go for enrichment trail walks, explore outdoors and get lots of love and attention daily. He will get some training to help with his quirks in hopes of getting adopted eventually. Ziggy no longer has to spend everyday in a shelter cage and will get to enjoy his golden days as a senior pup.

We want to thank every single person who saw our posts or heard about his story and donated to help make this happen. Ziggy is a dog who deserves every chance possible and YOU helped make it happen.
A special thanks to Yard deSIGNS St. Charles County for matching the remaining donations needed.
A special thanks to our volunteers who have been contributing monetary donations frequently.
A special thanks to his transporter who offered to take him halfway on her own gas money.
And finally a special thanks to Precious Diamonds Rescue & Sanctuary for seeing how special this guy is and saving him a spot, as well as helping us raise the funds needed by advocating for him.

Donations to Ziggy’s rescue can be made on PayPal at the link below. They help so many dogs who are behavioral cases and any donations help!

Many of our followers should remember our most recent medical baby that came in, Althea.
She has been recovering in her loving foster home and is nearly ready to find her forever family! Lots of dedicated love and care has helped her recover physically and emotionally from everything she has been through.
While she is mostly recovered around her neck, she does still need to gain a bit of weight before she is ready to be spayed.
Althea can go home to an approved foster to adopt home who would help her continue gaining weight and eventually be spayed.

Her foster mom describes her as below:

Althea is an exceptionally sweet and loving girl.

She adores snuggling in her persons lap while quietly judging the comings and goings of her foster family’s resident cats. While other felines are not her cup of catnip, she does enjoy the company of her foster’s two resident dogs.

Althea’s ideal home is one that will give her the furrever life she deserves after a brief but rough intermission and recovery from the street life. Her new home should have lots of cozy places to snuggle, a lap that is often available for purring and biscuits, and abundance of love.

Althea is dog friendly but not a fan of cats. She might do well with just one other cat sibling given ample introductory time.

If you are interested in this amazing girl, please message us or call 636-255-6400 to set up a meet and greet. You won’t regret it!

Holly & Jolly are looking for a home to call their own for the holidays. 🌲 ❣️
These girls were found as strays and enjoy each others company but don't necessarily have to go together.
They don’t mind being held and we estimate them to be 7 months old.
Holly is the calico and Jolly is white with grey markings. 🐾

✨✨Dixie has been tagged for rescue

Dixie hung out in the office today and got a taste of catnip. 🙈
She is around 7 years old and loves to talk your ear off! 🗣️ 👂
She would prefer to be the only fur baby in your home. She has lived with older cats in her past and could acclimate to a calm cat friend but we would suggest a slow and proper introduction.
Come to the shelter to visit her Tuesday- Saturday 10am-3pm. 🐾

🎄🛷$400 more & Ziggy boards Santa’s Sleigh🛷

‼️‼️Yard deSIGNS St. Charles County has offered to match the remaining donations needed of $350!!
That means we only need $175 from others and they will match it to meet our goal‼️‼️
This is a super helpful offer and we have high hopes!

We received a generous donation of $100 cash and his very own Christmas stocking with a description of what his future holds.

On top of this, the rescue received a direct donation of $500 directly to his cause! That just goes to show how much they believe in his future and love him already. ❣️

‼️‼️That means, if we can raise $400 between now and next Wednesday, Ziggy could possibly leave as early as next weekend‼️‼️

Please share his post and donate if you can. Every single dollar counts at this point.

Ziggy could board Santa’s sleigh and arrive in time for Christmas. 🛷🎅🎁🐶🐾

Online donations at the link below:
Cash/check can be dropped off at the shelter at 2835 W. Randolph St, St. Charles, MO 63301.

♉️Ta**us has been living the last 275 days in a cage at our shelter and we really can’t explain why.
♉️Ta**us is true to her star sign and can be a bit strong headed or independent at times but also laid back and kind hearted.
While Ta**us wants to be the only star in your life, as she is the brightest of all.
♉️Ta**us loves to play but also snuggle and make biscuits on your belly. She will tell you if her bed isn’t cushioned enough and request more fluff. She loves bird watching duty and basking in the sun. Her favorite toy is anything with feathers or catnip.
She loves spending time with her humans and is eager for a home of her own.

♉️Ta**us would rather be the only pet in a home and preferably only older kids who can respect her. She can get irritated on occasion when pet too rough or much but she is clear about telling you when.

❣️Won’t you give Ta**us a home before this Holiday season? Check out a day in the life of Ta**us below to see how much potential she has.

To inquire about meeting Ta**us, message us or call 636-255-6400.

Momma Maple 😺
2 y/o female DMH
Would be perfect in a barn home or a home with no kids! She is slow to warm up but once she does she's a doll.

Come give her a chance! We are open Tuesday-Sat 10-3!

🎄Ziggy heard that Christmas is around the corner so he wanted to share his biggest Christmas wish. 🎄
Ziggy’s wish is for donations to make his Texas sanctuary dream come true.
The staff, volunteers, and public has been working hard to raise nearly $3,000 out of the $4,500 needed.
❣️The sanctuary has an anonymous donor in Texas who has graciously offered to cover $500 upon his arrival!! ❣️
This means he only needs $1,000 more in order for him to make his way to Texas for rescue sanctuary‼️
Ziggy is such a happy dog and has been through so much in life. He has spend the last 11 months stuck at our shelter and despite all the love we give him, we know it isn’t the best life for him.
We have thought through different options and the sanctuary is Texas is the best one for him to live the rest of his life enriched, loved, and potentially adopted if all works out well.

To donate to Ziggy’s Texas Fund you can do so online at the link below. You can also donate cash or check in person at the shelter at 2835 W. Randolph St, St. Charles, MO 63301.
Staff is there daily from 7-4 to accept donations.

🎁Can you help Ziggy’s Christmas Dream come true? His smile is well worth it and he even has his own stocking to fill with snacks for the road trip. 🎁

We got some more delivery shout outs to thank!
Cheryl, Rich, Tina, Patrick, Karen and Anonymous!
We have been so thankful for everything so far and we still have more boxes to unpack that were delivered today!
Our kitties were super excited for the new cat tower that we assembled yesterday. Missy, one of our senior cats, supervised its completion with only minimal correction to staff.
She approved of its structure and the kittens got to give it a test run!

We also want to give a huge thank you to Joyce B. And her Bunco group for the very generous cash donation to our Shopping with Santa fund. Each year our animal control officers team up with other city employees to help make Christmas special for local families in need. Each year our animal control Santa’s hand deliver the gifts to brighten their day.
