Our high school youth are already planning for Mission Trip 2025! Our first fundraiser is homemade Apple Dumplings. Apple dumplings will be packaged and sold as a pan of 6 apples individually wrapped in pastry with a cinnamon spiced syrup. They are distributed frozen and can be baked with provided instructions when desired.
We will pre sell orders beginning September 1 through October 6. Please pre-order from a high school youth before or after worship in the Narthex. Apple Dumplings will be ready to pick up on October 27.
Our kids got a first hand look at what goes into preparing a sermon last Sunday. This week will look a little different, though.
You won't want t miss Stump the Pastor Sunday! Pastor George will be preaching on a scripture submitted by one of you. The trick is that he won't know what the scripture is until he steps up to the pulpit. Make sure you join us for this one of a kind Sunday!
All of the items collected for International Institute St. Louis have been delivered! Your gifts were met with much gratitude as they will be used to help ease the transition of immigrants and refugees arriving in St. Louis. Thank you for your generosity, and to Women With a Mission for organizing this drive!
Today was the first day of school at the preschool and Pastor George joined in the fun! We are praying for a great year for all of our students, teachers, and their families. πππ
Sermon from Sunday, August 25 from Rev. George Miller.
We are excited to share that St. Lucas UCC now has a sermon podcast! This means that if you miss a sermon, or simply want to listen again you can do that from almost anywhere. You can listen to sermons through Apple Podcasts and Spotify.

Don't forget to bring your Stump the Pastor submission this Sunday! π
Join Pastor George in one of his favorite fun traditions! Crack open your Bibles, make your one selection, and drop into the bowl outside of the sanctuary. At the end of worship on Sunday, one scripture will be chosen for the September 1 sermon. But here's the catch, Pastor George won't know what it is until he steps to the pulpit on September 1! You won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind Sunday!
Another excellent Sunday Funday is in the books! We had a great time playing and learning together about architecture. Special thanks to Grant Alexander for sharing his knowledge with us and to all who participated!
On Sunday, Michele shared a practical story with the children of what it means when Jesus tell us he is the bread of life. How can you nourish someone else with the love of Jesus this week?

The International Institute St. Louis is currently welcoming the highest number of immigrants and refugees to St. Louis in recent history. Many have endured enormous incredible challenges. Most are arriving with little or no belongings.
Our St. Lucas UCC Women With a Mission group wish to sponsor and help the Institute with items on their top most needed list. We are collecting these items beginning Sunday, July 28th and will deliver them the week of August 25th.
Items most critically needed include: brooms, mops, laundry baskets, bowls, plates, drinking glasses, kitchen knife sets, cutting boards, toilet paper, and feminine hygiene products.
