Chiodini Architects celebrates 50 years in business Helmed by founder and architect Lou Chiodini, the firm continues to innovate more than five decades after its launch.

The Kitchen Conservatory in Brentwood, Missouri showcases contemporary culinary architecture and design. Chiodini’s design philosophy was to prioritize functionality over form, clearly communicating the building's purpose as a culinary teaching center. A distinctive glass cube encases the main demonstration and teaching kitchen allowing for visibility from the street and creating an inviting and productive environment. This glass cube contrasts with the solid architectural masonry elements of the building, highlighting the building’s simple form and clean lines.

The state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen is arranged in a curved layout to accommodate 20 participants, all with a clear view of the instructor. The facility includes two signature kitchens, each equipped with a large granite island and stainless-steel counters. A moveable dividing wall allows for two classes to occur simultaneously or opened for one big class.

Within the Women's Safe House (TWSH). The Women's Safe House's mission is to empower women and families to rebuild their lives free of domestic and sexual abuse through emergency services, education, and advocacy. The Women's Safe House serves as a haven for women and families who are in immediate danger and are fleeing domestic violence.

With uplifting colors and family-friendly design goals in mind, our Chiodini Team came together to provide time over two days to make the suite renovation happen. From cleaning to mounting light fixtures, our staff loved every minute of it. We wish the best for the TWSH community and hope this suite comforts current and future residents.

Last month a few of our staff members volunteered as mentors for STL NOMA Project Pipeline Architectural Design Camp! They had a chance to work with some of the St. Louis youth, 6th-12th grade, as they gave them an opportunity to learn more about the field of architecture and design.

Chiodini would like to congratulate our very own, Katharine Maurer, for graduating this past week from Maryville University! Along with her degree, she was presented with the Winthrop Dunreath Interior Design Award, recognizing a student for their exceptional performance with their education. Katharine will now be joining us full-time here at Chiodini Architects as an Interior Designer. Congratulations Katharine, you deserve it! We are very proud of you and your accomplishments! 🎓👏🎉

ST. PETERS REC-PLEX NORTH ICE RINK

Another successful Ice Rink project with Chiodini, B32 Engineering and G&W Engineering Corporation . C. Rallo was the contractor on the project. Complete renovation and replaced the refrigeration system to an ammonia system. Renovations included a new building expansion for refrigeration equipment, as well as upgrades to the warming room, locker rooms, a new referees’ locker room and a new color scheme in the arena.

Great IIDA IDEA Awards event! Fun evening seeing all the fabulous work produced by St. Louis Firms and socializing with Industry colleagues.

Check this out! The RP Lumber Center in Edwardsville was featured in the July/August issue of Rink Magazine! Quickly becoming a staple in the community, the center serves as the home rink for the Edwardsville High School’s hockey team, as well as serves as the Teen hangout spot for area youth. Along with that, it also houses a fitness center that allows all ages to partake in health and wellness. Definitely a great place to engage and bring together the community!

LIT, cigar lounge at The District in Chesterfield, to relocate to larger storefront - St. Louis Business Journal The cigar lounge’s new location will expand its footprint to 5,000 square feet from the current 1,650 when it opens early next year. It's expected to lead to a doubling of the business' revenue in 2023.

Chiodini Architects was chosen to provide professional design services for the renovation of Greensfelder Recreation Complex at Queeny Park. The scope of the facility renovations consists of an improved ice rink package, including new boards and glass plus a new ammonia refrigeration system. A new entry and drop off lane will improve traffic circulation. Also included in the renovations are expanded locker rooms, a new main entry area, improved office facilities, new exterior building materials, building systems, acoustics, and conference space, as well as an optimized kitchen, storage, and equipment rooms. This important refresh will allow the community to enjoy all the amenities Greensfelder Rec Complex has to offer for many years to come!

We came, we saw, we conquered! 😏💪🏃‍♂️💨 St. Louis Sports Commission

This past week, Chiodini co-sponsored and volunteered as mentors for NOMA’s Project Pipeline Summer Design Camp. We were able to assist with the youth’s camp activities, guiding them through the different stages of design by using provoking and fun exercises. Definitely a great experience. We had a great time and look forward to the design camp next year!

Our very own Lou Chiodini, Michael Chiodini, Greg Uphoff, and Walter Albrecht were present last week for the for the GRAND OPENING of the RP Lumber Center in Edwardsville! They were able to enjoy the grand opening ceremony, take a tour the building, fellowship, and see the hockey scrimmage that was hosted that evening. Congrats and special thanks to all who contributed to this wonderful project! ⛸❄️🏒
