As you might have experienced or seen in the media, a large-scale IT outage has impacted organizations globally overnight, including BJC Health System (BJC HealthCare and Saint Luke’s Health System), affecting access to numerous servers, programs, and computers. This was not a cybersecurity attack.

Our IT teams are actively working to restore access to our core systems and reconnect PCs to our network successfully. Though we are seeing progress, this process will take some time.

If you have an appointment with one of our providers today, Friday, July 19, please plan to arrive at the normally scheduled appointment time. Due to this outage, please be patient as appointments may take longer and wait times may be extended.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we navigate this developing situation. Our goal is to always provide our communities with the best care possible.

We will continue to share updates as they become available.

Kaitlin’s s***k and passion for what she loves have pushed her to live life to the fullest despite being diagnosed with distal spinal muscular atrophy. She is currently the only patient that her Washington University physician at St. Louis Children’s has seen with this rare disease.

Kaitlin visits St. Louis Children’s Hospital for appointments regularly, which usually include time in the donor-funded Joe Buck Imaging Center. Support from generous donors is essential to kids like Kaitlin, who are proof that you can do anything when you put your mind to it.

Our patients benefit from the discoveries our Washington University School of Medicine partners uncover every day. In the spirit of learning, we were thrilled to bring back our annual STEM week, presented by MilliporeSigma with experiments like elephant toothpaste, self-inflating balloons and homemade lava lamps.

Patients could take part in STEM experiences all over the hospital -- including in their own room with personally delivered kits and visitors.

Children's is the oldest children's hospital west of the Mississippi River and is one of America's leading institutions dedicated to treatment and care of infants and children. Each year, more than 250,000 patients visit the hospital, which offers comprehensive services in every medical and surgical specialty and in 2018, Children's expanded with a state-of-the-art, 12-story medical tower.

Children’s relies on generous donors to deliver specialized care for families in need, extend health care services to the community, and pursue research that promises to transform pediatric medicine.
