We have some pretty incredible NF families. For the past 8 years, a couple of our clinic families have hosted an annual fundraiser to raise money for NF research. Without families like this, research would not be where it is currently at. Thank you for all that you have done! 💙💚
Interested in organizing a fundraiser for research or therapy programming, you can too! Email [email protected] to find out more!

Thanks to the groundbreaking work by the Gutmann Lab at the Washington University NF Center, the NF Clinical Trials Consortium is looking to launch a trial to assess whether lamotrigine, an epilepsy drug, can prevent or delay tumor growth in children with NF1. You can read the full article here!
Epilepsy drug prevents brain tumors in mice with NF1 | Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis Study lays groundwork for clinical trial aimed at preventing brain tumors in children with NF1
In most people, NF1 is not a life-threatening condition. However, there are rare situations where medical problems arising in people with NF1 can be serious. For example, people with NF1 and a plexiform neurofibroma may develop an uncommon cancer called a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST). Although MPNSTs are rare, people who have an MPNST frequently pass away from it.
Come on out tomorrow! We’d love to see you there!
