We had an incredible seminar this passed weekend in Cincinnati. I want to thank SKIF, especially Sensei Fung, for allowing me to participate in this event, and I look forward to the next one. I met some wonderful people from all over the country, and seeing some old faces and friends was such a delightful experience. Training with such dedicated people makes feel so comfortable about the future of Shotokan in the United States!
Reminder: The Dojo will be closed August 31rst (Saturday and September 2nd (Monday) for Labor Day Weekend. Enjoy your weekend, Everyone!

Such a wonderful seminar on Saturday. Meeting old friends and making new ones through Karate training is what keeps us sharp and young (at heart, at least!). I want to thank SKIF once again for inviting me. I am eagerly anticipating attending the Seminar in Cincinnati, in August. Karate is my life. Thank you for making my life happier!
My wife Mikiko returned to Japan last night. It was a wonderful 10 days. We spent a lot of time together, especially over the past weekend. I will visit her Japan in July, so I have something to really forward to.

Great training session yesterday. 2 1/2 hours of pure fun. I believe everyone left sweaty and tired. The last class, for those who could stay for an extra 2 hours. Class included Morote Gari, Kizami-zuki and Tawara Gaeshi.
Next training session is scheduled for June 9th 10:00-12:30. Ossu!
So excited to attend this event! Thank you, Doshinkai Dojo - SKIF Cincinnati for inviting me.

I encourage everyone in the NYC area to attend the Kanazawa Kancho Seminar (SKIF) in June. It is a rare opportunity for us Shotokan Karate-ka's to learn from a true legend of Karate. The SKIF has been so generous to allow us all to participate, regardless of our affiliation and rank. Please register at: https://kanazawa2024.skif.nyc

We had such great training in Cincinnati. The people of SKIF were so welcoming and kind. One of the best things at these events is not just the training, but meeting great, dedicated people I met there. I believe Shotokan is ONE WORLD, and we share the same ideas and core principles. I am SO GRATEFUL to find people who share this same belief.
I believe you should always try to train with people better than you AS MUCH AS YOU CAN if you truly want to improve. That is why I am so grateful to have been invited to to the Kanazawa Sensei/SKIF Seminar in Cincinnati. He is a true gentleman and an incredible Karate-ka. I am so grateful for the opportunity to learn from him!
Sorry for not posting for a while. I just returned from Japan and have been super busy with bad jetlag. Here is a wonderful excerpt from the Ryokubi Dojo JKS/NY&Connecticut Seminar of Kagawa Shihan teaching us Nijushiho. His stance and explanation is wonderful. I hope you enjoy!
