STEP is well represented in the GSE Alumni Excellence in Teaching awards this year! Now in its 10th year, Stanford GSE will present the Alumni Excellence in Education Award to four educators at the ceremony on Oct. 25 for their exemplary leadership in education.

We are hosting a virtual Teachers of Color STEP information session Thursday November 17th from 5-6pm pacific time. If you are a prospective future teacher please come learn why STEP might be the right place for you as well as about our supports for BIPOC and/or first-gen teacher candidates. After a year of virtual learning, local kids and new teachers benefit from a collaboration between Stanford and the Sunnyvale School District A summer school program draws newly credentialed teachers from the Stanford Teacher Education Program to help address the effects of the pandemic.

Current Sequoia teachers and STEP grads, Diana Nguyen ‘18 and Melissa Díaz ‘19, co-facilitated an ethnic studies course with GSE professor Jonathan Rosa. In this course, Stanford undergraduates learned alongside high school students. https://stanford.io/3fJ4lp9
