Let Sterling College be the place where you experience God.
Thank you for praying for us as we attended the 44th EPC General Assembly and Gospel Priorities Summit at Hope Church in Cordova, Tennessee last week. It was a great opportunity to share information about Sterling College and connect with professors, pastors, and missional organizations.
Sterling College sent a short-term mission team to Cordova, Alaska, for ten days this summer. While they were there, they helped with summer school at the local elementary school, helped put on a Vacation Bible School, and got to explore the community. The theme for VBS was “Breaker Rock Beach” and the key point was “God’s Truth Never Changes.” This was a great experience for everyone as they met new people, helped spread the Word of God, and were able to grow closer to God. John Harding led this team to Alaska; he is our Head Volleyball Coach and the Program Director for our Master of Arts in Sports Ministry here at Sterling College.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience possible!
Please pray for us this week as we attend the 44th EPC General Assembly and Gospel Priorities Summit at Hope Church in Cordova, Tennessee.
The theme, “Next,” is drawn from 2 Timothy 2:2: “And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.”
We are excited to announce our 2025 short-term mission trips for Sterling College:
1) Wilmington, Delaware
2) Tokyo, Japan
3) Oaxaca, Mexico
4) Romania
If you would like to learn more about how God is moving here or our missions program, please reach out to [email protected].
Please keep our Sterling College mission team, currently traveling to Cordova, Alaska, in your prayers. This group is led by John Harding, who serves as the Head Volleyball Coach for Sterling College and also as the Program Director for our Master of Arts in Sports Ministry.
Our Sterling College team of eleven experienced a once-in-a-lifetime mission trip experience serving in Ghana, Africa.
The mission of Sterling College, is “to develop creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith.” What is being taught at Sterling College does not simply stay contained in the classroom setting. The theological concepts are being practically applied, as we experienced during our time here in Ghana, Africa on our mission trip. May this experience continue nurturing a heart for missional living for each individual. Regardless of your area of educational discipline, God can use each of us.
You may have heard it said about our young adults, “you are the church.” Do we provide opportunities for our young adults to be the church? Do we provide opportunities for missional experiences? Sterling College provides these opportunities, in training and mobilizing our young adults to have a missional perspective. Reminding our young adults, “they can do all things through Christ.”
During our time serving with Debi Frock, the founder of GMHope.org (Ghanaian Mothers’ Hope). Our team members have been blessed and had opportunities to teach children in the name of Jesus. Our team was privileged of serving in numerous areas while in Ghana, Africa. Words cannot merely describe the reality of being on the ground serving here. Traveling to the four village schools, the team went to bless the children and teachers. What we did not realize was that the blessing we received would be far greater.
Under her leadership, and through Ghanaian Mothers’ Hope, God has placed His divine favor and blessing on the work that is being done here. As a result, children are being educated and taught about the Bible. The eternal impact is countless and will continue to flourish. May the Lord continue to bless Debi Frock.
We would like to express our gratitude to everyone who helped make this mission trip possible. To the local churches, families, and businesses: you each played a crucial role in sending us. Thank you for praying over us in the months leading up to and during our mission trip. We truly believe that God's divine protection surrounded us.
The team has made it safely back to the U.S., and we thank God for this.
We are currently traveling to Ghana, Africa.
Please pray for our team!
