We’ve had some fun activities over the last couple weeks! Created our own matching games, wrote our own stories and water colored!

Donut Dash is TOMORROW! As a reminder, check in (where you receive your race number and tshirt) begins at 7:30 am at the pool house at Sterling Lake. The race begins at 8:00 am. We are so excited to see you there! 😊

Some exciting Donut Dash announcements!

- we will be selling extra t-shirts on race day if you didn’t meet the pre-registration deadline. They will be $5 per shirt and we will have a limited number available.

- we will have 2 divisions of runners this year. For ages 12 and under the top 3 finishers will all receive a dozen donuts. For ages 13 and up the top 3 finishers will receive a $20 gift card to a local restaurant!

We are so thankful for your support and getting very excited for race day!

Here’s the Donut Dash race route! We will start and end the race near the Sterling Lake pool house. Pre-registration has ended but you can still sign up to run! All participants will receive a donut and prizes will be announced soon! 🤩

We had a fun day at Kids Cove making mug cakes, meeting a dog from the shelter named Drake, and playing bingo!

Sterling College Soccer Day. It was a fun and good afternoon for all the kids!

Dear Kids Cove Community,

We are excited to announce that Debbie Walker (a current staff member) will be stepping into the role of Director come December 1, 2023.

Debbie has a degree in Early Childhood Education and many additional hours of Elementary Education classes. She was a lead Pre-K teacher at facilities in Seattle, WA and Alaska. Debbie has also been a para educator for Rice County Schools, as well as running her home daycare. We are excited for what Debbie will bring to our program.

We are grateful for the time and dedication that Stephanie Burford (“Mrs. B”) has given to this program. She will be missed, and we wish her the very best!

Kids Cove Board

Sterling College Football and Golf Day. It was a fun afternoon for all the kids!

Today the kids had a ton of fun with the Sterling College Baseball Team. They enjoyed several different stations while learning the basics of baseball. They ended the afternoon with a game of baseball!

Thank you Nate Heffline, Cipriano Rivera, Garrett Bryant, and Nicholas Keller for coming this afternoon and sharing your love of baseball with the kids.

Thank you Karen Carroll for organizing these great afternoon activities for the kids. They really have enjoyed their Wednesday afternoon activities.

What a fun summer we had at Kids Cove!

Here’s a few pictures from our last couple of weeks of our summer session.

Highlights were - Frostbite Shaved Ice, Taco Tuesday, Sterling Emporium (earlier in the summer) Sterling Lake and a 4-H Enrichment
session.

In the day and life of a kid at Kids Cove -

Simple circuitry play making a small light bulb light up….they nailed it!

Cute baby kangaroo…smiles all around!

Last day of our summer fun 4-H engagement sessions. They planted corn and painted pots. We then went to Lyons to swim , go to the museum and then DQ. Another fun day at the Cove!!

Kids Cove students and staff had a wonderful time on their field trip to Botanica.🌸
