Volunteers are always needed at the shelter! Our dogs rely on volunteers to walk them because we have no yards for them to run around in. Our cats adore attention and just want to be pet.

We are OPEN Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm and you can volunteer anytime during those hours.

The first time you volunteer, you will need to bring your ID to prove you are over 18 years old.

Bingo is confused as to why he is all alone? His brother got adopted today…. but not him 😭

Bingo was part of an accidental litter of 11 puppies 😱 We are slowly able to get him and his siblings in the shelter to get them vetted and adopted. Bingo is now about 3-4 months old, 20 pounds, neutered, microchipped, and has had his first round of vaccines. He is good with other dogs, very food motivated, and needs to grow more. He is not housebroken yet.

Ted 🤎 Ted also just got back from the vet and would love to go home before the weekend! Ted came to us as a stray with his siblings and was never claimed. He is 4 months old, now neutered, microchipped, and has had his first set of vaccines. He is a silly boy and about 20 pounds currently. He will grow up to make a great companion!

Rebecca 💛 Rebecca just got back from the vet and would love to go home before the weekend! Rebecca came to us as a stray with her siblings and was never claimed. She is 4 months old, now spayed, microchipped, and has had her first set of vaccines. She is the bossiest of her siblings and about 21 pounds currently. She will grow up to make a great companion!

☀️ Ace’s day off! ☀️

Ace got to go for a car ride and visit Aspen Coffee Company for a pup cup today with one of our awesome volunteers! ☕️ Here’s what our volunteer had to say about Ace today:

“I spent the first part of my afternoon with Ace, a lovable boxer looking for a furever home!
Ace is a large breed dog, he is powerful and totally lovable (as long as you're not a squirrel). He wants to be a good companion and is learning how to walk on a leash. He is easily trainable, because he is food motivated.

He enjoys car rides. He puts his head out the window, rolls around on leather seats, lays down and just enjoys being chauffeured.

He is a BIG fan of pup cups from the ladies at Aspen. He even tried to sample my iced latte.

Ace would be a good fit for an active home and a strong pack leader. He's still considered a pup so he's a bundle of fun and is an overall really good boy!!!”

Clementine had a great time visiting Boone Pickens Stadium this morning 🧡🐾 She loved watching the people walking by and feeling the excitement in the air because it’s almost GAME DAY 🧡🏈

Clementine is available for adoption at Stillwater Animal Welfare! She’d love to watch the game on the couch with you! She is 5-7 years old, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. She weighs 76 pounds and is done growing!

Clementine is so ready to get out of the shelter and into a home 💔

Clementine 💛 Clementine came to us as a stray and was never claimed. She is at least 5-7 years old, spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated. Clementine is 76 pounds and done growing. She is pretty quiet here so far.

Zeus came to us as a stray after being found left behind when his owner moved out. He was never claimed and is now looking for a new family! Zeus is at least 4 years old, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is heartworm negative and 73 pounds.

Charlie 💙Charlie came to us as a stray and was never claimed. He was petrified here for awhile before he learned that we weren’t scary and we wanted him to be our buddy. Now Charlie is happy, friendly and loves attention!

Charlie is about 2 years old, now neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. He is heartworm negative and 55 pounds.

Skittles ❤️💚💛 Skittles is a unique case for us at Animal Welfare. Skittles is 2-3 years old, 15 pounds, neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Skittles is FeLV positive. In a lot of shelters, cats that are FeLV positive are euthanized. Skittles made such an impression on us and vet staff, we want to try and find him a home before that is considered. He was wonderful at the vet and is such a sweet boy!

What is FeLV? It is a virus that attacks the cats immune system. Skittles can live a happy, normal life, but his life expectancy is going to be shorter. FeLV is contagious only to other cats. Skittles has a quicker chance at getting sick because his immune system is compromised.

What does Skittles need? Skittles needs:
-To be in a home where he is indoors only
-To be the only cat or be in a home with other FeLV positive cats. Skittles does like other cats!
-Skittles needs to see a veterinarian when/if he ever seems sick, so that his symptoms can be addressed promptly.

Neither do we! We are always looking for more adopters! Please share these dogs faces and help us find them homes. We currently have 16 dogs and puppies available for adoption.

Oreo realized his walk was over and he was on his way back to his kennel. He laid down and didn’t want to go back into the dog hall 💔
