PTSD, or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, occurs in people after they experience a particularly traumatic event like war, violent physical, sexual or verbal assault, accidents, etc. Symptoms include depression, anxiety, nightmares, paranoia, insomnia or disturbing thoughts. Many people recover after a few days, weeks, or months, yet for others the thr recovery road might be months or years.
