At Rehab Associates, our Occupational Therapists specialize in fostering academic success, enhancing social development, and promoting motor skills in children. Discover how our dedicated team supports your child's growth and potential.

Did you know that pediatric occupational therapists play a vital role in helping children thrive? Here's how they make a difference:

🧼 Self-Care: From dressing to brushing teeth, OTs help kids master essential daily tasks for greater independence.

🎨 Sensory Processing: OTs assist children in managing sensory input, ensuring they feel comfortable and focused in their environments.

🧠 Executive Function Skills: These therapists support kids in developing planning, organization, and time management skills crucial for academic and life success.

✍️ Fine Motor Skills: Whether it's writing, cutting, or using utensils, OTs help refine those small muscle movements needed for precision tasks.

🤲 Bilateral Coordination: Activities that require both sides of the body to work together, like catching a ball or tying shoes, are improved through targeted OT interventions.

👁️ Visual Perceptual Skills: OTs assist in enhancing the ability to make sense of visual information, critical for reading, writing, and many other tasks.

Occupational therapists are dedicated to helping every child achieve their fullest potential. 💪

MIND stands for Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay. While it sounds complicated, the MIND diet is really just a hybrid of two heart healthy diets, the Mediterranean diet and the DASH diet.

These diets focus on minimally processed and mostly plant-based foods like leafy greens, berries, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains, olive oil, and fatty fish like salmon. Studies show that sticking to the MIND diet may help reduce the risk of cognitive decline and dementia including Alzheimer's Disease.

Not sure how to get started? Our Registered Dietitian can help you create a MIND-"full" meal plan that works best for you. Also, visit www.alz.org to raise your awareness about brain health (and go purple!) June, Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness month.
