Victor ran the and Jimmy and I took the with Charles and Alisa. We both caught 5/7 sails and saw a few others that didn’t eat. We also caught a few dolphin and a blackfin tuna. All in all a pretty decent day. Best of it was in 150 feet due East. See you all there tomorrow.

More mini adventures! Victor caught a sail on it last week. Check out the video of it on our Instagram page. Sounds like there is enough interest that we will host a mini rod challenge this summer. Stay tuned for more info on it. It will primarily be for sails but there will be other categories. This one should be a blast!

Great time fishing the Buccaneer Cup Sailfish Release Tournament last week running the Two Daze Off. Thank you Charles Brogdon and Alisa Dycus Brogdon for the chance and thank you Derek, Jimmy and Victor for an amazing job in the pit! A little bitter sweet on these wins because we’re always thinking of you Patrick Price. Thanks for sending us some love for 2nd place overall, 2nd place deadbait, 2nd place deadbait daily day 1, first place deadbait daily day three, Top individual angler, last fish of the tournament and a ton af fun. So stoked the new Off The Chain Dredge bars are finally where they need to be. Pretty good tournament debut for them, every fish except two were on the dredges or flat lines and pulled them for the the whole event plus some and still look and act brand new. Congratulations to the Julia G on the win and Valhalla 55 for taking home almost 200k!!! See you all next year!

I’ve known of him longer, everyone knew of Shammy John, but I met the legend back in 1992 during hurricane Andrew when he and my family choose the same hurricane hole up in the south fork to protect our boats. 10 years after that when I got my captains license, he was the first one willing to help and always rooting for me, giving life advice, always the voice of reason, teaching me how to bottom fish, and giving me the honor to convert his book of #’s from TD’s to Lat/ Long. Im so honored and blessed to know and have him as such a good friend and while I’m so glad he’s sharing this book with all of you. I’m even more glad he’s only shared that book with a couple. Lol
Ive been reading and admiring John’s works for over 10 years now as hes been puttinng this and other books together, its wonderful he can now share them with everyone. Incredible fishing going on right now. Saw hundreds of nice sized dolphin and even more blackfin blowing up all over the place yesterday. Baitfish, jellyfish, and birds everywhere. The ocean was alive! Caught some and let some female mahi go and never tossed a chunk to bail them, Sometimes it’s hard to display self control, but trust me, it feels good to leave them chewing. Steady trolling action all day long. Just like I like it. Plenty of open days between the two boats when this wind lays down. Give me a call to get in on this phenomenal action. (772)285-1055

Fun day with Doug and Jimmy. Caught a nice sword on the second drop and did one more drift and caught another. Tried to let the second fish go, but it ate the bait SO DEEP… Congratulations to Doug for catching his very first broadbill swordfish! Awesome jump at the boat and memories that will last forever. This is a great time of year to target these amazing fish. Give me a call and we’ll catch the fish you’ve always dreamed of. Hand crank, electric, slow pitch jig. Let’s go!

Bait was a little difficult this morning, but we finally had enough by 9:30 to give it a try. Glad we caught a few extras, cuz it was pretty good for the boys. 7/9 sails and also caught a dolphin out of a few and a couple Bonita. 100-130 feet straight out front. Had a great trip with great guys and got to hang with my brother Erik Fawcett. It’s been over a year since we’ve fished together. Forgot how great it is. Did have some hard luck on a few other nice yellowfin, and lost some big muttons also, but all in all we all had a blast, ate like kings, and fought like thugs. Can’t wait to get back to Blue Marlin Cove Resort & Marina
