Hello Sunnyvale Smashers! We have some exciting changes coming to the gym. We are adding some new classes and coaches from the Mountain View location. Our new schedule will start Monday, July 15th!
Hisashi (Sash) Imura
Sash is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC). He was the Head Football Athletic Trainer at San Jose State University for 10 seasons. He earned his RKC (Russian Kettlebell Certification) levels 1 & 2 in 2008. In 2018 he joined the Smash Mountain View. Sash will be leading 6pm Strength & Conditioning on Monday & Wednesday.
Jake Timoteo
Jake is a Muay Thai fighter with over 20 years of fighting and teaching experience. Starting at Fairtex San Francisco, Fairtex Mountain View and later KOA. With a B.S. in Kinesiology and NASM Certified Personal Trainer, he has been with Smash since 2021. Jake will be leading 5:15pm Muay Thai Fundamentals & 6pm Muay Thai All Levels on Tuesday and Thursday.
Rudi Ott
Coach Rudi is the Head Coach for Smash Gyms Muay Thai Program and Fight Team, Smash Fighter. He will be running the 5:15pm Kickboxing, 6pm Muay Thai, & 6:45pm Muay Thai Level 2 on Mondays and 6:45pm Muay Thai Level 2 on Wednesdays.
Athlete profile: Coach Jess!!!
Jess is our lifting basics coach and will be in her second strongman competition this weekend!
Her favorite event is a truck pull and overhead pressing her cats 🐈⬛🐈. Jess is a master at knitting and has knitted many of her own pairs of socks. She can wiggle her ears and has even performed at Carnegie Hall!

Athlete Profile: Amber!!!
Amber has been competing as a power lifter for years and last year entered in her first strongman competition! Her favorite event is truck pull and loves to play soccer in her free time. Her favorite color is purple, which you might be able to tell by looking at her hair. Amber is a high school art teacher, loves to paint animal portraits and went to 7 different grade school.
Amber is most known around the gym for her loud, cheerful voice and will no doubt be heard cheering on her fellow athletes.

Aka Muscle Mami
Mimi started lifting back on 2021 but quickly entered in her first strongman competition and the rest is history. She is the SMASH strongman coach and loves helping others learn and fall in love with the sport as much as she loves it. This upcoming strongman competition will be her debut into the middle weight class and couldn’t be more excited for the new challenge 💪💪💪
When she’s not coaching at the gym, Mimi loves spending time outside 🏕️and hanging out with her 2 cats. 🐈 🐈⬛

Aka Reechy Peachy
Richa is new to powerlifting but has made quite the splash onto the scene here at SMASH. This will be her first powerlifting meet! When she’s not cheering 📣 on others at the gym, Richa is a patient care coordinator at an IVF clinic👩🏽⚕️and enjoys eating lemons 🍋 like a normal person eats oranges. She is also a proud dog mom to a handsome boy named King 🐶

Robbie has been lifting for over 10 years and enjoys competing! Her favorite lift is bench press. Robbie is a middle school science 🧪 teacher and enjoys playing tennis 🎾 and piano 🎹 when she’s not setting PR’s in the gym.

A lot of people get intimidated walking in to the gym and lifting weights. Our coach has created a great program the welcomes all levels of experience to get stronger and with our community, you will have fun doing it. Don’t be intimidated by a barbell, we make it safe and fun to learn.

Partner drills and technical sparring are great ways to learn how to apply the techniques you’re learning. Wednesday nights after kickboxing class, we have technical sparring in a controlled setting. This is a fun way to practice offense and defense, without taking damage and allowing you to play with different set ups.
