A Friday sale so awesome its going to last a week! For those of you that like to go into the big blue room and play with all the allergens its Landscape Lighting Season. We figured we'd kick it off with a fantastic, app enabled, color and white, RGBW MR16 retrofit bulb sale. For every 5 bulbs you buy, we will throw in a 6th for free. And this one you can actually take advantage of on the website, just order the number of bulbs in increments of 5 and we will add the freebies to the order before it ships. Of course, you can always message your favorite salesperson instead if you would rather.

Get Rid of Stuff Friday! We have a few cases of a 50 light 4" 5MM mini light. Its not a light count and spacing we normally stock and the warehouse goblin wants the shelf space back. There are 3 different colors of these little bu**ers. Gold, Green and Pure White. Now why the heck we have these is a mystery, why do we only have 3 colors? no idea. But we can tell you they are S4 lights, so fantastic quality, 50 lights per string, 4" bulb spacing. Prices are as follows Gold $6, Green $7 and Pure White $8 per string. Our first "Get Rid of Stuff Friday", because while consulting the internet for creative rummage sale names "Fun and Funky Flea Market" apparently was a no go, and "Pre-Loved Paradise" sounds well.. anyway... The first thing up for sale are some Twinkly Walls. These normally retail for $1200, but since we opened them and zipped them together to make an unbelievably awesome room divider wall for the 2 day show, we are selling them as Pre-Lov...wait, no... open box units. Quantities are very limited, as a result you will have to go old school and call/email/message us if you want one, they are not available on the website, nor does the fantastic price include shipping.

Office Dad says we need to clean our room. So starting next Friday, be on the look out for special offers on stuff we need out of here. Strange color lights, gently used wireframes, mystery boxes of holiday cheer, things that used to be in boxes but aren't any longer and other assorted stuff. Maybe some shirts, jackets, shrubbery, desk toys, that dust bunny that lives under Paul's workbench, you never know....stay tuned.

The second of the back to back tradeshows kicked off today. The center piece of display is a 16’ Twinkly tree. Show special $18,500 if anybody is shopping. Unless you are living under a rock, you know that the midwest is getting some weather. Its no fun here, not even the hillbillies with the giant trucks are not driving around so management made the call to pull the plug on the day. Effective at noon the warehouse is shutdown and we won't be able to ship anything. We will do our best to keep up on email and phones, but Michelle and Paul who are in the thick of it are having power issues. Anyway its the middle of January so....maybe no Christmas emergencies today? Thanks guys.

Yes we are still here, but with limited availability today and tomorrow. . We just have to count all the bulbs and strands still left in inventory. So we are all away from our desks, if you don’t like it, remember it’s all your fault we have product left over, buy more next year. Lol. If you guys place web orders, make sure the warehouse is set to Holiday Lighting WI. Otherwise they won't go until monday. Only the holiday lighting office is open. We will be here and shipping.

RoHS compliance and you.
we get a lot of calls asking for "Lead Free" lights, and we get unhappy people when we tell them there is no such thing, let alone a certification for it. There is however RoHS complaint lights, that really is a thing, but only in LED lights. What is RoHS compliance you ask? Well back in 2003 the EU decided some stuff was bad and it shouldn't be used in or to make products. That list has been revised a few times since then and now contains 10 substances. Lead, Mercury, Cadmium and a bunch of others with really long names nobody can pronounce are included. Now this is where we loose people. You would think that if it's on this list the item would contain NONE of those things .....and you would be wrong. The compliance rules allow up to 1,000 parts per million of all the materials on the list except for Cadmium which is only 100 PPM. Yes, for the math nerds that is 0.1%. Its a small percentage, but its possibly there, hence the reason we don't call them "Lead Free". Think about like this. It's like the peanut/school lunch situation. There are people deathly allergic to peanuts. They eat stuff that says Peanut Free, that means what it says, nothing with the manufacturing facility or product comes into contact with any peanut material ever, its like a sterile environment. RoHS compliance is like most foods, take Michelle's terrible afternoon snack for instance, Wasabi Flavored Peas, which shouldn't be eaten on principle alone, but on the back there is a little warning that says "processed in a factory that may also process tree nuts and peanuts". Does it contain peanuts as an ingredient? no, it basically means that there could be traces of peanut and as such can't be labeled "Peanut Free". This is the same with RoHS. So, maybe the moral of the story here is don't lick your fingers after, well, either the wasabi peas, or putting lights on your tree? Stay tuned, later we will freak out some Californians and explain why you can have RoHS complaint lights with a prop 65 sticker.

If you are ordering only Holiday lighting product lines, please make sure your warehouse is changed to Holiday Lighting, WI before you hit submit on that order. Just hit the dropdown and change location. Yes, we know the default Sussex warehouse is almost the same building, but there is a very intimidating line on the floor and an even more frightening 4" of paperwork that separates the two. So help us help you avoid shipping delays.
