Sussex Country Floral Shoppe

Sussex Country Floral will be closed on Monday September 2nd, and returns to normal hours on Tuesday September 3rd.

We will be open on Saturday August 31st because there are still orders to fill and deliver. Don't be surprised if we sneak out a few minutes early, though. ;) :D

Have you ever ordered online and asked for something to be delivered out-of-state? We're you disappointed by the experience? If so, here's something to consider.

We are located in Sussex Wisconsin. No surprises there. Our location is listed right in our name, plus the address is all over our website. You can't miss it.

Our list of available products is pretty extensive, and we can get more if given enough advance notice. The problem? We cannot promise you that every other store, in every other state, will have exactly the same items as us.

If you ask for an out-of-state delivery, this will obligate us to do a search for a florist that actually has that same item. No guarantees except that we'll make our best effort to find someone on your behalf.

Why all this information? Yesterday we got a very rare complaint and it was an out-of-state order. The lady who ordered made a VERY unsafe assumption that every florist in every location would stock the same things as we stock.

Yes. We have the '48 Ford Pickup item that they want in Sussex; not their choice of delivery location in Connecticut. We do not ship it to Connecticut and no store in that part of Connecticut carries the '48 Ford Pickup.

I personally spent hours trying to find a florist to fulfill this order. We offered them options and alternatives. They got angry and refused to accept the only solutions we could offer. They agreed to pay the cancellation fee, and cancelled the order.

Of course, you'll also now see that her husband (Blake) is spamming social media with false information. He is trying to make it appear as though we made an error. This couldn't be further from the truth.

If you don't know how these things work, that's okay! We do!! :)

If you are part of the Sussex Facebook group called "Sussex/Lisbon Community Communications", you may have seen a bizarre post where someone said "Can anybody recommend a flower shop? I had a run in with the guy who owns Sussex Flower".

Let's just get straight to the point. We know who they are. There has been no "run in" with them or anybody else. They lied.

Best words of advice I can give you:

Beware of the "anonymous member". They're hiding their identify for a reason, and remember. When these drama queens become abusive or do something illegal, the group admin can and often will tell you their identity.

Power in our part of Sussex has been out since 5am.

Currently we have no access to our electronic systems and no way to answer the phone.

Estimated time of restoration is 9:30 a.m. but I wouldn't count on our availability until after 10:00 a.m.
