We are deeply grateful that Jackson County did not experience the same level of devastation as many of our neighboring communities. Our hearts go out to those who are facing immense recovery and rebuilding ahead. As we stand with them, we also want to remind everyone to support the family-owned businesses here in Jackson County. There are so many amazing small businesses to support here on Main and Mill Street! Currently, most stores in downtown Sylva are reopen and are taking credit cards again. Please stop by to shop and dine or just come to hang out and chat. It makes our days so much brighter when our stores and downtown areas are busy and we get to see your smiling faces. There is so much love in this sweet little town and we all appreciate your support and thank you for shopping local!

Our surrounding mountain communities and neighbors that were hit so hard by the hurricane can still use your help with donations. If you can help by donating items, Innovation Station is accepting donations daily to distribute to those in need. There are also several other places around downtown Sylva helping with donations too. 💕

So thankful the boil water requirement has been lifted and local restaurants are able to start opening again! We enjoyed an amazing lunch from Foragers Canteen right down road from us in Dillsboro today! 🥰

Businesses are reopening, some have internet and a few still are without that capability. Help our economy and help your neighbors. Wilmington Response will be posted up in the greenhouse at Innovation Station in Dillsboro collecting and distributing donations to our neighbors in need. They will be there daily from 12-6 PM until further notice. Please consider dropping something off if you can spare it. 🤍

Come join the scavenger hunt fun in downtown Sylva to raise awareness for domestic violence awareness month! You can hunt for the clues at these downtown stores all month at: Snake Song, White Moon, Innovation Brewing (Sylva), City Lights Bookstore & Carly and Cass! So happy to see these three together today! Cass, Sophie & Aindrea (Cass’s college roommate) graduated from WCU together! Aindrea and her boyfriend Luke evacuated from Asheville and stopped by to hang out and make some charm jewelry! Aindrea also sells the cutest handmade earrings at our Sylva, NC store!

It’s been so nice to have smiles and laughter at the store today after this past week! 💜

We had the cutest art doodles drawn at the store today by the sweetest little girls ever! Stop by and draw a doodle to leave and you can take one that someone else made in our art exchange basket! 💕

Baxley's Chocolates is open again today! 🍫💕

Baxley's Chocolates would like to thank those of you who checked in with us during this devastating time for our mountains. We feel very fortunate to be able to say that we are open today. We do not have phone or internet like many but are able to take offline card payments at this time. So feel free to stop in. Even if it's just for a chat about how you're doing.

We will be resuming normal business hours starting tomorrow 10/1. We have no damage here at our store but still do not have Internet so would prefer cash payments. We think we may have a work around to still accept cards hopefully.

Stop by and see us and all the other businesses in downtown Sylva. Being closed for a few days as a small business takes a big toll not just for the business owners but for the staff too. Please shop small and local when you can! Praying hard for those businesses who lost so much in the surrounding Western NC communities near us. 💕
