Some of the Preschool children saw the garbage truck while getting ready for outside time! They watched them dump the garbage and recycling bins, then got a wave from the workers! As they watched the truck drive away they even got a BEEP BEEP!
Lunch outside for the babies today 🤩
Our Toddlers beat the heat by discovering what is hiding inside this colorful block of ice. Months ago a teacher created this magical block of ice. What a perfect time to experience it.
The children rubbed their hands and fingers on it. They poured cups of water on it, squeezed sponges over it, flipped it and slowly it revealed jungle animals from the frozen colorful ice. The children were delighted to finally get the animals unstuck and play with them! ❤️
We are finding many ways to stay cool during the heat wave! Flowers from the garden, frozen in blocks, made for a lot of fun.
We added watercolors and found that we could get the smaller brushes into the cracks that were forming as everything melted.
The children also wanted to paint so we added some paper at the end of the table. Cool painting kids!
Good day to break out the sprinklers 🥵 💦 🥵💦
Preschoolers washing the babies! Loving all the time outside today!
Babies painting with water on the wall. What a masterpiece they created 😍🤩😜
Rainy day water play in the TB classroom makes for busy little hands. Loads of fun with lots of sensory input. We scoop and fill, dump and scoop again. Squishing and a bit of splashing the warm bubbly water. Finding out which duck floats and which sinks. We get a bit wet, but it’s worth the fun!😀
What a great day for sun hats and water play 🤩!
It was a great day at the SUEECCC for Child Care Staff Appreciation Day! We were treated to XO Taco for a yummy lunch and some very kind parents also brought us delicious donuts from Bella’s Bakery. All of the teachers were also given really cute f***y packs as gifts! Thanks everyone for making us feel special 💙🧡💙🧡💙🧡
The finished product. Great job preschoolers!
Fun spring sensory experiences in the preschool! We have been doing experiments with baking soda and vinegar, learning about butterflies and playing with nature/flowers. We have some budding florists among us!
A zoo, a volcano…FLOOR IS LAVA!!! And wow a GEYSER!
Our Lois brought in a bag full of dried hydrangeas for our toddlers to experience on the playground as natural loose parts.
The children had so many different ideas on what they would do with them. They used many of their senses by looking, touching and smelling.
Then they found other ways to play with them.
Finally the hydrangeas blew around the playground until our preschoolers came out to discover them and then play some more.❤️
Our Toddler A friends are exploring butterflies this month. Be sure to check out all the wonderful things happening in the classroom!
“Tummy time” doesn’t stop with infants! It is a great way for toddlers to draw and strengthen their core.
Try it sometime at home while reading a book.
Total Solar Eclipse- Shelter in place at the SUEECCC from 2:00 -4:40 pm. NO RE-ENTRY until 4:45 pm

On Tuesday, we had a special visit from some Syracuse stage performers! Our toddlers were engaged and enthralled from the start. The SU students created an arbitrary language that was universal to all and captured our little guys attention.
They assigned animals to various shapes. Those same shapes were used to stack and knock over. The blocks also made noises that the children were able to control with small discs.
The finale was the release of a box full of balls and a parachute. Cleanup time at the end was also made into a fun game of returning them all to the box.
Many thanks to Syracuse Stage for letting their students debut a performance once again at our center!
Watching the snow fall
Look what the preschoolers did with their painted crates. A zoo, a volcano…FLOOR IS LAVA!!! And wow a GEYSER!
The preschoolers painted cardboard crates today! Some of the comments from our friends :
“These look like beautiful castles!”
“I see houses. Buildings!”
Looking forward to what they will do with them tomorrow!
The preschoolers were kind enough to share their colored pasta shells with the babies. Our friends really enjoyed scooping them and dumping them into bowls!!
Today it’s chalk for babies!
Today the babies are trying markers. For some of them more went on their hands than the paper!!
Babies learning to hold the crayon to make some marks on the paper.
Give your toddlers a challenge and they will rise to the occasion!💕 Process art becomes such a rich and wonderful experience when little ones try to manipulate their hands and finger on materials that are shaped differently than they are used to.
Toddler A friends spent a lot of time painting cardboard tubes and empty tape rolls of various sizes. It was amazing to see how they quickly learned to hold these new shapes in order to fill the objects with colors.
