Today, two level four oral students, Emma and Joseph, put their hard work to the test. Both students were required to give a "Cause and Effect" presentation for fifteen minutes. While Joseph educated the ELI staff on how sleeping impacts the human body, Emma educated us on the effect of declining birth rates globally. Both students not only impressed the ELI staff with their topics but they also impressed us with their presentation skills.
This weekend Tara and Kelsey took the some of the ELI students and the International year one students to Niagara Falls. Here are just a few pictures from their adventure.
Welcome to the ELI Breakfast Club! Casual conversation is a great way for our oral students of all levels to get practice and today thats exactly what they did. Staff provided the food and the students provided the conversation.
Student Spotlight:
Kazuma Nagao is a Japanese exchange student from Tokai University. He has been with the English Language Institute since August and we have had the pleasure of getting to share in his passion for space and NASA. Over the weekend Kazuma visited Florida to watch Jeanette Epps launch and yesterday he was able to go to her Alma Mater, Le Moyne College to watch her launch again and was interviewed by Channel 9 News. You may watch his interview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXY2-sHzMUE
Look to the sky in the future because everyone here at the ELI knows that one day Kazuma will be completing his own launch into space!
The first week of the Spring 2024 semester has come to an end and we couldn't be happier about welcoming our new students into the ELI! They braved the cold during orientation and were welcomed into their classes by our teachers, staff, and our returning students. Here is to another amazing semester at the ELI!
Good luck to our students on their final exams tomorrow and Friday!

We would like to bring attention to our student Bangyu Qi-
Bangyu has been working towards becoming a licensed EMT, so we asked him to tell us a little bit about this process:
"I'm taking the New York state EMT class. I joined the Camillus Fire Department and now I'm a volunteer firefighter. Every Tuesday and Thursday night, and Saturday morning I have EMT training."
Here are a few pictures of our very own Bangyu in action!
Happy Halloween from the ELI! Pictured is our current student Risa who got to enjoy pumpkin carving at the annual Halloween party!
