Teens got very creative at their end-of-summer celebration, Create-a-Cryptid! They disassembled various toys and stuffed animals, then used their parts to form a whole new creature! 👀

Yesterday, kids had a blast at our end-of-summer Cryptid Party featuring special guest BIGFOOT! Kids made glow in the dark slime, enjoyed some fun snacks and got their picture taken with the big guy- What a fun time!

Today, for our last Story Snackers of the , kids listened to "Who Ate All the Cookie Dough?" and the classic "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" and then made their own edible cookie dough- YUMMY!! 📖🍪😋

This afternoon, teens had fun creating blacklight paintings using UV glow in the dark paint. The black and neon colors look super cool together in normal light that they'll look even cooler in the dark! 🎨🖌🖼

We are currently looking to hire a full-time Youth Services Librarian.

Earlier this week, we introduced our followers to 7-year-old Lincoln, who made it his summer goal to visit all 30 Onondaga County Public Libraries. This morning, on , Lincoln made his stop to OFL! He was so excited to check out the Playaway "Wonder" by R. J. Palacio, discover our hatched butterflies, play on our big drum during our Family Play & Caregiver Meetup program and lots more!

Today, kids had a blast trying out VR! Trent walked around with and waved hi to some dinosaurs 🦕 and Alice entered a Super Mario Bros.-esque game 🎮 What a fun afternoon!

⭐️ Yesterday, Winterberry Homestead presented "Navigating the Stars" to attendees of all ages here at OFL. They learned about Nathaniel Bowditch, the father of modern navigation, and how he taught illiterate men to calculate from and follow the stars, as constellations matter most in the northern and southern hemispheres. Best of all, patrons took home a star map and learned how to participate in orienteering and other activities in their own neighborhood. ⭐️
