Why the term “an arm and leg” in regards to cost, is offensive to small business owners.

For us photographers, we aren’t working 8 hours a day everyday , well we are but we’re only getting paid once for it! For example, I work an 8 hour wedding, I’m doing 10+ (heavy on the plus) hours of work on that one gallery. Not getting paid for each hour I’m additionally editing. Therefor we aren’t getting paid steadily like regular 9-5 jobs are.

Most of us don’t charge “an arm and a leg” heck most of us don’t even charge the price of our cost of doing business! In fact, most of us undervalue our packages soooooo heavily just to remain affordable. Because if we aren’t… we can very easily go out of business. Not saying that luxury priced photographers aren’t value because baby YOU ARE! And I’m so proud to see so many incredibly artists charging THEIR WORTH! And they have the right target audience 🖤✨

So when you ask if we charge “an arm and a leg” we don’t…. And even the more high end photographers don’t either…. We just charge our value and enough to live … just like anyone else 🖤
