We were thrilled to see NCAD Graduate .art illustrating an editorial in the Seattle Times at the end of 2022.

NCAD Illustration Professor Derek Gundy saw something very familiar about the color scheme used in this article which was published around Christmas. When he looked a little closer he noticed the illustration credit given to one of our former students. Morgan was the Valedictorian for the Class of 2018, and currently works in Illustration & Graphic Design in the Seattle area, while also freelancing for publications like the Seattle Times.

Sometimes with “editorial illustration” the illustrator can be tasked with creating imagery to accompany challenging topics, and this may be one of those times. So we celebrate the illustrator! If you wish to read the actual story, it can be found online at

The National Society of Arts and Letters is offering $12,000 in scholarships for art students.

Two age categories: 16-18 and 19-22.
Applications are due Feb 1st.

The Naomi Rabb Winston Scholarship in Two Dimensional Art is an annual scholarship in honor of the late Naomi Rabb Winston who endowed the scholarships.

Applicants will submit images of five works of art completed within the last two years.
