That’s the vision of the new Eastside community center, a public-private partnership that will build out a school campus to bring a swimming pool, a gym, after-school activities, cooking classes, a playground, nature hikes and more to residents of the neighborhood and beyond.
Hey kids, show us your free throw skills! The Tacoma Elks #174 basketball free throw contest will be held on Dec 16 as part of the Holiday Blast. Participants ages 8-13 will compete against their age group and shoot up to 25 free throws for a chance to win. Registration will be open at Eastside’s Holiday Blast from 10:30-11 am.

Visit Swan Creek Park to welcome home the spawning salmon on Dec 9 from 12-2 pm. Hike along the creek to enjoy beautiful Swan Creek Park and look for spawning salmon. Learn about salmon and salmon conservation from one of the many educator booths on site.

Join Santa, Mrs. Claus and the Grinch for a holiday celebration to remember on Saturday, Dec 9 at the Center at Norpoint!
Activities include cookie decorating, arts & crafts, a selfie station, popcorn, hot cocoa station, inflatables and holiday bingo, plus:
🎄Capture family photos with the Grinch, Santa and Mrs. Claus
🎄Enjoy live music throughout the event by the Meeker Jazz and Stadium String Quartet
Christmas Caroling Performances will take place at 1:45 pm, 2:45 pm and 3:45 pm. Feel free to join in and sing along!

The water fitness class tomorrow morning 11/21 will not have an instructor. You are still welcome to do self-led water exercises.

The Tacoma Police Department and Tacoma Ministerial Alliance are leading an effort to provide FREE turkeys to families during Thanksgiving. Swing by Eastside Community Center, Saturday, Nov 18 where our volunteers will be on hand to distribute these hearty birds, ensuring that no one goes without a traditional feast!
Turkeys will be given away while supplies last on a 1st come 1st serve basis
Participants visiting this drive-through location must stay in their vehicle
