Meet Mollie:

Hello! I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy
at Antioch University, Seattle. I also hold a Bachelors in Fine Art with a focus on Fiber Arts from
Massachusetts College of Art and Design where I learned the competitive nature of being a professional
artist did not suit me ultimately landing me in the field of art therapy.
Many folks wonder if they need to be “good” at art when contemplating if an art therapist is a good fit
for them, and my response is “there is no ‘correct’ way to make art.” The space we build together is
about fostering a safe space for you to take creative risks to heal, and I view my role as one of
support—there is no judgment. Unlike “traditional” art making, art therapy focuses on the creative
process and viewing our challenges from a new perspective. As we work together, we will weave
together talk therapy and art making, and over time find a balance between talking and making art. The
structure of therapy is up to you. I believe you are the expert on yourself and through practice you can
begin to tap into that to make the changes you want to see in your life.
I do recognize art therapy can be intimidating, and as a white, abled bodied cis-woman with a fine arts
background I often adopt a position of privilege and I am continually learning and growing to become
increasingly aware of how I show up in spaces in and outside of the art therapy studio space.
When I am not in the office, I can be found sewing or knitting, snuggling with my cats, or climbing the
nearest wall.

Virtual Teen Eating Disorder Support Group
Starting July 11th
Weekly, Thursdays at 5pm PST

This is an ongoing, virtual support group for teenagers (12-17 years old) struggling with body image and/or an eating disorder. No official diagnosis required.

This is an ongoing support group for teenagers (12-17 years old) struggling with a range of challenges, such as depression and anxiety.

Liberating Jasper is a weight-inclusive behavioral health agency located in Tacoma, WA serving clients residing in Washington state. Our organization was the first of its kind to be founded by a team of Certified Body Trust® Providers.

We offer healing opportunities for anyone on the spectrum of disordered eating and body distress. Such opportunities include weekly virtual support groups for adults, outpatient mental health therapy, and outpatient nutrition counseling.

We take many major insurance plans. We also offer sliding scale rates from $110-$175 per session and sessions with an intern therapist supervised by our clinical director, Colleen Young, ranging from $45-$75 per session.

Our care model is rooted in the Health at Every Size® framework, an alternative to the weight-centric approach characteristic of most current medical models. We believe in and advocate for health equity, addressing anti-fat bias, and improved access to care regardless of anyone’s size.

Rate:
Our relationship counseling services are available at an out-of-pocket rate of $225 for the initial session and $195 for follow-up sessions. Unfortunately, we are not accepting insurance at this time.

Announcing a pricing update for weekly support groups. Beginning January 29, 2024, the $7 flat fee for attendance to a weekly eating disorder support group will be replaced with a tiered pricing structure of $8 or $12. At the $8 level, you will be covering your own weekly registration fee. At the $12 level, you will be covering your registration fee, as well as a portion of the registration fee for a community member who is unable to pay the full amount.

For those requiring financial assistance to attend a support group, a reduced registration fee of $4 will be available. To access the reduced rate, please email [email protected].

It is our hope that these pricing changes will help us continue to offer these support groups as a low-cost resource for our community in the years to come, while honoring the time and effort of our group facilitators. Thanks for your continued support!
