🌈✨ Historic Day in Pierce County, WA! ✨🌈
The official proclamation for Pride in Pierce County was presented today with the Pride Flag on display in council chambers for the first time ever! A huge shoutout to Jason Hixenbaugh, VP of the Rainbow Center Board, for knocking it out of the park with his remarks. And a big thank you to Matthew Wilson, Executive Director of Oasis Youth Center, for bringing it home.
Pure joy and acknowledgement of living an authentic life and acceptance despite divisiveness along the way to this historic day! 🌟
Thank you, Council Chair Mello, for your leadership on this especially important acknowledgement, and to Councilmembers Campbell, Denson, and Hitchen for standing up for what is right.

This week is PACKED. Tomorrow, we have the historic 2024 Pride Proclamation at the County-City building followed by the launch of the 2024 Tacoma Pride festival with the LGBTQ Community Pride Awards! Saturday is the big day with the Festival and The Mix Block Party ALL. DAY. LONG. Stay hydrated!

ONE WEEK AWAY is South Sound's biggest Pride celebration. Tacoma Pride Festival is Saturday July 13, 12PM-6PM on Pacific Avenue between 7th and 9th. Free for all ages!

Pride is under attack here in Pierce County. Join us in person Tuesday July 9th at 3PM to show love and support for the LGBTQ community and celebrate the 2024 Pride Proclamation!
