It’s not too late! This Sunday, June 30, is the last day to support Annie Wright Schools this fiscal year. Your gift of any size creates a lasting impact on our community. Join us as we cross the finish line to the 2023-2024 school year together! 💙
The Grade 5 exhibition is an exciting showcase that debuts the last week of school. Students each choose a topic that interests them and develop their own lines of inquiry surrounding that subject. Alongside the expertise of a mentor, they research their chosen topic and ultimately prepare an exhibit that serves as the culmination of their Lower School learning. We are always so impressed with their work, and this year was no exception! From a rap concert in a box to glass blowing to a baseball pitching simulation and so much more, these students truly blew us away with their projects. 🙌
Our Middle School community closed out the 2023-2024 school year with a ceremony honoring award recipients from all grades — and of course, our Grade 8 Blue Ties, who will be starting their high school journey in the fall. Join us in congratulating the Class of 2028! 💙 We look forward to seeing many of you back here in our Upper Schools next year.
Lower School commemorated the end of the school year on Friday with their annual closing ceremony, honoring in particular our Grade 5 students who will be moving up into Middle School next year. Congratulations to our Green Tie Class of 2031! 💚
And that’s a wrap on the 2023-2024 school year! Have a great summer, Gators! ☀️🐊
Our archivist, Laura Edgar, has been hard at work for the last two years organizing the school’s historical documents, photographs, ephemera and more. Today, students and faculty were able to tour the new archives space for the first time and peruse some of the interesting materials on display! We are so excited to introduce our broader community to the new AWS Archives & Special Collections, particularly as we gear up to celebrate the 100th school year on our current campus. Stay tuned for more!
This spring saw the first-ever student exchanges within our newly formed IB Global Alliance! 🌐 We had the pleasure of hosting two students from Windhoek International School (WIS) in Namibia. In addition, four of our own Upper School students (two in Grade 10 and two in Grade 9) traveled to WIS as well International School of Western Australia in Perth. Keep an eye out for an in-depth look at their experience, coming soon in our spring-summer issue of Strength magazine!
And the 2023-2024 House Cup goes to……
The Green Ties!! 💚🐊🥇

What’s better than curling up with a good book on a rainy day?! 📖 🌧️ Lower School students got cozy today for Pajama & Stuffie Day as a celebration of their two-week Book Bonanza (which included a book drive, Read-a-Thon competition, and book fair in partnership with Hi-Voltage Records & Books!) 📚🧸
Our Earth-Day themed Spring Fling this past Friday was a joyful celebration of our planet and our environment. 💚🌏 We learned about composting & recycling, savored sustainable snacks with the Bug Chef, and let our creativity bloom with eco-friendly take-home arts and crafts. ♻️ Big shout out to the AWSPA and all of our guest vendors and artists for planting the seeds of fun! 🌱
