We are hiring Youth Instructors!

The Youth Instructors are responsible for connecting with their students and delivering specific program curriculum. They excite, educate, and develop their students as climbers and little humans. The Youth Instructor reports directly to the Youth Program Manager. They will work with a variety of age ranges and instruct Mini Rockers, Beginning Climbers, Junior Climbers, Camps and have opportunities to do Private Instruction as well.

The Youth Instructor is supported by the Youth Program Manager, as well as the Assistant Operations Manager and the Operations Manager. The Youth Instructor can expect the Youth Program Manager to provide timely and direct feedback on areas of needed improvement, as well as advocate for her/him. The Youth Instructor may work in close coordination with the Front Desk staff and their Shift Leaders.

Join Edgeworks for evening climbing at our local crags. Grab a friend (or make new ones!) and get some pitches in with our AMGA trained guides. Well chase the best conditions and climb until dusk, trying to get on as many climos as we can squeeze in. Climbers of all ability levels are welcome!

Whether it’s your first time outdoors or you want to practice lead climbing, our guide staff will be there to offer support and tidbits of advice along the way.

Ever wonder what to do if your climbing partner gets hurt while on the rope? In our Belay Escapes clinic, you’ll get the chance to learn and refine key skill of tying off a belay device to “go hands-free.” Group equipment is provided, but please bring a harness, belay device, and a locking carabiner if you have them.

You’ll learn and practice techniques including:
🔵When, why, and how to escape from a belay system
🔴How to tie a Load Releasable hitch / Mule Knot
🟢Preventing catastrophic failures
🟡Considerations for what to do next

Rebekah has national certifications through AFAA as a Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Fitness Trainer. Rebekah is passionate about helping her clients create balanced fitness plans that fit the needs of their unique bodies and lives. She enjoys working with the LGBTQ+ community, with those who have complex health conditions, and supporting healthy movement for all types of bodies. She is committed to sustainable goals that are safe, effective, and meet client goals. Rebekah enjoys the challenge of finding exercise modifications and explaining the purpose behind fitness plans. She hopes to foster joy in movement, and the strength and flexibility needed to live a full life.

Monday, May 13 at 10 am will be the first meet up for the Up Ending Parkinsons group at Edgeworks! is a nonprofit that facilitates guided rock climbing for people living with Parkinsons Disease.

We are also looking for:

🟢Anyone living with PD who wants to try climbing

These group meets will be hosted every Monday at 10am! We can’t wait to see everyone on May 13th for the first one!
