Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter completed our third quarter Adopt-A-Spot Community Clean-up at our Eastside Community Center location with the help of our beautiful Sorors of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter for the City of Tacoma this afternoon.

The Adopt-A-Spot program is a year-round partnership between the city, neighborhood groups, businesses, and residents to help reduce litter and keep public spaces clean. Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter has committed to long-term participation in the program and reporting after each cleanup. In return, the City of Tacoma provides gloves and cleaning supplies as well as a sign of appreciation for the Chapter’s commitment to keeping Tacoma clean.

Adopt-A-Spot participation also provides us access to members of the community and business owners, sparking conversation about the goals of the Fraternity and possible partnership opportunities.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter volunteered at Emergency Food Network (EFN) on Saturday, October 21, 2023 and packed 7,700 pounds of red Anjou pears from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM to store food for families and individuals in need.

Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Sigma Zeta Sigma Chapter and our Blu Crescent Foundation partnered with Family Housing Network and Catholic Community Services of Western WA, on Saturday, October 21, 2023, to support their a new Safe Parking program for families and single adults experiencing homelessness and who are living in their vehicles. Brothers prepared and delivered sack meals to the Holy Rosary Church, which provides 24/7 on-site services that include case management, coordinated entry, meals, and access to hygiene facilities. Big shoutout to our beautiful Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rho Lambda Zeta Chapter - SeaTac, WA, Sorors Ingram and Sheppard for shopping for the contents of the meals and helping us prepare the sack lunches.
