Our Fall show, AN INSPECTOR CALLS by JB Priestley, will open October 25, 2024. This is an intriguing mystery and tale of investigation into the lives of five people who may have forged a tragic chain of circumstances.

It's a simple idea. One Table shows are a little bit sketch comedy, a little improv, and a lot of unpredictable fun. Written and directed by Derek Nunn and Masahiro Sugano, and starring an ever-changing cast of Tacoma characters, One Table is an opportunity to see our city offer live theater in the comforts of a familiar restaurant, cafe or bar - no fancy lighting cues and no set design. Just a couple of actors, one table and the bustling backdrop of a local business.

This summer we're doing it again and we're looking for talented actors to join the next edition of the One Table show on August 22, 2024.

We're holding auditions all of next weekend on June 29 and 30th from 11am - 2pm.

Please spread the word to actors and performers in and around Tacoma! No particular role or story is designated to the project yet because we build scenes around you! The script will be developed fully after the director, casting and location are locked in. So please come in and share your performance talent with us!

A mysterious inspector questions a wealthy British family and their dinner guest following the su***de of a young working class woman. Is the woman’s death connected to this family, and if so, how? A tale of investigation into the lives of five people who may have forged a tragic chain of circumstances.

Upper class British accents will be performed in the production. A working knowledge of the British dialect is recommended.

Dukesbay Productions’ mission is to showcase the works of artists of all ethnicities. Actors from all racial and ethnic backgrounds are sought to audition for this multi-racial production.

The Dukesbay Theater, unfortunately, is only accessible by a long staircase. No elevator access is available.

Here he is imagining he is at a hotel, packing his suitcase, when all he is really carrying is a cardboard box full of household items. His former self (W. Scott Pinkston), seen only by the audience, charts this final voyage, speaking as Eliot once did before Alzheimer's took the wheel.

Dukesbay Productions and the University of Puget Sound presents NEVER AGAIN: The Story of the Japanese American Incarceration.

This play reading will take place during UPS' Day of Remembrance, on Feb. 19, 2024. It is FREE to the public, and refreshments will be served.

NEVER AGAIN features the talents of Ko Hashiguchi, Susan Kaeka, Joy Misako St Germain, Steve Tarry and Tim Takechi.

We hope some of you can stop by that evening to hear the story of the Japanese Americans who were put in concentration camps during WWII.

Today, January 13 marks the 125th anniversary of the sinking of the ship, the Andelana in the Tacoma harbor.

For those of you who missed our last production, ANDELANA, which we performed this past Fall, this was the story of a ship that sank on Jan. 13, 1899 in the harbor here in Tacoma, WA. All crew members who were on board were lost, and the ship remains at the bottom of Commencement Bay to this day.

Since our production, we have heard from two descendants of crew members who were lost that day: a great nephew of a crew member from Belgium and the great granddaughter of the ship's captain from Nova Scotia. Both are memorializing the tragedy in their own way.

We at Dukesbay Productions (and as citizens of Tacoma) would like to remember the lost sailors on this day. May their service and their lives never be forgotten.

Shakespeare professor Eliot Pryne is packing what he thinks is a suitcase and leaving what he thinks is a hotel. In the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, he is "taking leave" of the real world and imagining a new one. His three daughters struggle to know what his next steps will be.

A heartwarming story, filled with unexpected but compassionate humor, this rich dramatic comedy is about living and dying, and the strangely comedic value of both.
