Can an employer offer different benefits plans based on employment-based classifications? Ask HR Employers can offer different benefits plans for employee groupings based on an employment-based classification such as tenure or length of service.

The US unemployment rate is at 3.4%, its lowest level since 1969.

This isn't changing anytime soon. History gives us clues on who survives adversity. Businesses that adapt, pivot, focus, but most importantly TAKE ACTION on solving the problem are the ones that survive. (Blockbuster, Kodak, MySpace, Polaroid, Eron are just a few examples of businesses who didn't adapt and pivot.)

So now the question is.... are you still complaining about the change and what use to be OR are you ready pivot, adapt and take action?

Action Takers.... Now, more than ever, a well-designed benefit/insurance/compensation package, communication of the value and successful delivery is impertive to the long term success and heath between your organization and your employees.

Disconnect between the C-Suite/leadership and your workforce can be costly. Simply telling your employees they are important is NOT enough. Your actions, decisions, and most importantly, how you take care of their needs, MUST mirror your words. Words buy short term time, BUT actions buy long term loyalty. Disconnected leadership -> Disengaged employees -> Quiet and Loud Quitting employees.

Overworked Employee Quits Because He Wasn’t Getting A Fair Wage, Costs The Company $40 Million Not paying your employees a fair wage can have disastrous consequences for the company’s bottom line. Some business owners realize this only when it’s far, far too late.

Tax Tip!

Are you a business with UNDER 25 employees and offers employer-sponsored health insurance? If so, you may qualify for additional tax incentives up to an ADDITIONAL 50% credit ON TOP of your normal eligible health insurance tax deduction.

Ask your accountant/tax professional if your business has taken advantage of IRS Form 8941 -Small Business Health Care Tax Credit.
In my experience, MANY tax advisors miss this tax deduction because they are not aware Washington does NOT have a SHOP Insurance marketplace for small businesses. We are one of the very few states in the country that doesn't so this is why it is often overlooked or missed. Note: This is not a COVID-related employee tax credit. This is a credit/incentive that was created when the Affordable Care Act was implemented.
