Our very cool friend and winemaker, Olivier Roten of , is swinging by for a cool Swiss wine tasting! Hailing from the Valais region of Switzerland, Olivier will be pouring 6 gorgeous cuvées during an extended Aperitivo Hour today, 4pm-6pm.

$15 for six tasting pours, and free for wine club members.

New tinned fish alert 🐠🩷

Los Angeles based brings the flavor with two Spanish tins hitting our shelves:

Tuna Belly in Olive Oil (with a hint of Yuzu Kosho!)

White Tuna Stuffed Piquillo Peppers

All suited to go perfectly with our perennial favorite, Rosé from the Basque Country, Spain. This vintage was particularly cool ☁️ 🌧️ lending that unmistakeable green pepper note an extra OOMPH(!) along with the delightful hint of effervescence.

In preparation for some cool new vibes coming down the pike, we’re going to be simplifying our Aperitivo hours. Last Spring we started this Italiano inspired Aperitivo time to get some cute early sips, snacks, and preach the gospel of Spritz Culture™️

That 3pm hour has always been a bit of a yawn, so we’re going back to opening at 4pm. Rest assured, your little Aperitivo menu will still be around from 4pm-5pm, along with the full dinner menu. We hope to use that extra time to be able to host more tastings and little get togethers as we get ready for ch-ch-ch-ch-changes.

TL;DR
Dinner: Tuesday - Saturday: 4pm - 10pm
Aperitivo: Tuesday - Saturday: 4pm - 5pm
Retail Hours: All the above + Friday-Saturday starting at noon.

We’re truly honored to be a part of a beautiful and meaningful event coming up at Field on Sunday, February 25th. Our good friend and neighbor Praxia Apostle initiated a conversation that blossomed into a caring collaboration. Together, we’re utilizing our space to support the much-needed aid for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. As we’ve been planning, this dinner event has evolved into something truly heartfelt, and we’re so pleased to be part of it. Praxia, leading the evening with intention and care, has worked with our kitchen crew to craft a thoughtful and delicious menu of Palestinian cuisine, each dish showcasing the rich cultural tapestry and inherent resilience.

We will be hosting two seatings for this event, at 4pm and 7pm, offering a cozy and communal dining experience. Additionally, we are excited to feature wines from in Bethlehem, and will have a selection of Palestinian pantry goods from .palestine as well as regional wines from and available for take-home.

The vision and action of Howdy is one of the deepest, most tangible gifts of love to Tacoma and q***r folks, creating a truly welcoming, beautiful space for all. Like many in our community, we find ourselves wondering how to best show up for Daniel, for Howdy, and for each other amidst a myriad of emotions and questions. Without it being perfect by a long shot, we’d like to dedicate today in Jake’s honor. 100% of today’s sales and service charges will go to the GoFundMe, supporting a community-wide mission to help Daniel grieve and process without the constraints of financial burden.

Jake always led with love and genuine care. He was a deeply loving man, approaching every being with warmth, care, and humility. He was adored by every person who had the privilege of being around his magical aura. Watching the response to Jake’s passing and the outpouring of love in his honor has been like warm water being poured over my heart. Jake and Daniel continually hustled from the beginning of Howdy’s journey, pausing only to show kindness and love to friends and strangers alike. With paint on their boots and smiles behind their masks, they radiated a magical vibe from the moment I first met them.

As they nurtured the growth of their gorgeous vision for Howdy, it was an incredible honor to share in small business camaraderie with them, and watch their talent (!), genuine care, and never-ending energy. They jumped through ALL of the hoops of opening a business in this city while keeping their heads high and their spirits welcoming and warm to everyone they encountered. Every moment being around them was an inspiration, and these are memories I’ll always cherish and be grateful to experience.
