I think I signed up for an art show the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I’m not happy with all the new fangled electronic do-it-yourself applications for shows. I find the process very confusing and very time consuming for me. And there are so many scammers out there. They are scamming us on the fees to sign up for shows. I almost fell for a scammer and at the last minute I realized it wasn’t sounding right. I hope this one works out. It will be at my new hometown. Hastings, FL. I need to order a new pop up tent because my other one broke a leg. I’m excited and nervous and hunting all my gear to set up.

Sometimes you just need to get a foot in the door. Other times, you want to hold the door open.

Well, Christmas is coming up. I had made some mermaid stockings a few years ago and cannot find them. So, I got a bit of shiny sequin turquoise and made some more. This was the original. The current ones are turquoise.

I made some cell phone holders that will strap across your chest, so you can be hands free. The idea came to me because when you ride horses, if your cell phone is in your back pocket, it'll pop out and land on the ground. I also thought that if you were jogging, it'd be handy for either your phone or a bottle of water. Since cell phones come in sizes, I made some bigger than others.

I don't have access to kiln these days, so I've turned to painting in acrylic. Living at the beach, means I'm making some mermaids and mermen!

I am working on new projects. Mosaic mannequin butts.

I’ve made a herd of horses from wire and beads. The wire is bendable so I can alter the shapes and posture.

For the Holidays, in honor of Ruth Ginsberg, I'm offering ornaments, book marks, and face masks. Masks are 8$, book marks and ornaments are $4.

Used old scrap wood to reproduce images I saw of the Indian tribes who drew their pictures in old journals after they moved to reservations to live. I found their drawings to be fascinating. The Indian artists had many styles and the drawings told stories of their lives without words. I’m very drawn to them. I think the aged wood captures the feel of how long ago these lives were lived. It’s a tiny peek into their history. I do not know their tribes or names. Only the images that I found by googling.

While my glass and clay are packed up for moving, I've been painting on scrap wood. This was the first. I matched some fabric (Laurel Birch) so I'd have an accessory to a throw pillow.

I rescued several pieces of wood blocks, sanded them and will be painting images on them. This first one is two sided, but thick enough to stand up. I painted Laurel Burch cat faces on them, because I had some fabric of hers that I wanted to match.

I had so much fun creating a fabric design. Used photos that Gunnar's mom had taken, pulled in to an old version of Photoshop, worked with that and pulled into Powerpoint, and created a jpeg image that I downloaded into Spoonflower.com and bingo....I just ordered two yards of fabric. Will have to see how the colors transferred from my computer screen to printed cotton. Spoonflower is a great website. I could have ordered this in wallpaper, too. I want to play some more with designing fabrics. It requires alot of calculations to make a repeat design.

These items are glass fused to clay and fired together.

I made a series of nudes, using fused glass. I sprinkled fine frit over the surface. This was one of my favorite images. I took the photo as I put it in the kiln, before it fired. It's very grainy, but the outline is very clear. There was a man in town, who purchased a few of them, so he could hang them in his green house with his orchids. Glass doesn't mind if it gets damp.

This loaded sideways. rats. It's fused glass. The image is made of powdered enamels. I made it at a workshop.

These images were made by decoupaging papers onto canvas or painted wood tables. Alot of fun to design and make.

I just bought a face painting kit. Gonna take some lessons and watch some videos.

Our second painting party: Kamryn drew and painted two flamingos. She is offering to sell her painting for $10!! We told her she can earn money as an artist. I am so impressed with her artistic ability! All we did was give her a bit of advice about brushes and paint colors. Ann chose a bouquet of flowers this go-round, and Crystal made a painting for a co-worker's new baby.

Our first Painting Party at Crystal's house: November 2017.. Each participant chose a different idea, sketched it, created their own pallette, and in three hours, bam! Done. We want to do this again.

The donkey that lives by my daughter's house. They thought it was so cute, I had to paint them a picture of it.

Made some cute little mermaid Christmas Stockings. $20 each. Very bling sequin "legs" with shiny fins.

I've been on break from making art for a while now. My supplies have been put in storage while I prepare the house for sale. It's taking way longer than it was supposed to take. Maybe I'll dig up some old art to post.

I rolled out raku clay, drew the image and textured the clay, fired, filled the image with glass, glazed the clay, a few firings later, added wire to hang them, and voila.

Oh my. I spent yesterday taking unprofessional photos of glass and clay work. I need to download about 30 or 40 photos into photoshop, crop and post for sale. I want to clean out all the made art, so I can pack up this house ready to sell it. I want to buy a new place where I can have a real studio. Hope to be posting before the end of the year.
