Our new Executive Director is still getting her feet wet, today we visited the Mercy House Men's home. We talked about the work of the house and the needs that need to be met, we conversed about health care and access to job opportunities and post secondary opportunities. There is STILL more work to be done and we are up for the challenge!!
The men we serve in the program are grateful for the Mercy House opportunity, but we can do more to help them get on their feet and stand on their own. Rise to the challenge and donate furniture, volunteer time for yardwork and bonding, or walk alongside them in positive mentorship.

Thank you Urban League and Ms. Shelia Morris to we hosted an engaging and insightful
parenting workshop. The session was marked by enthusiastic participation from parents who were eager to enhance their parenting skills and learn coping strategies.
The workshop focused on various aspects of effective parenting, including the importance of
being present at your child's sporting events and school activities. Parents were given a platform
to express their thoughts and concerns in a confidential and supportive environment.
Sheila Morris, was insightful and engaging as she provided a thorough explanation of the "Time
Out" method and the significance of rewarding children. She emphasized how these techniques
can positively impact a child's behavior.
The event also included door prizes and lunch, creating a welcoming atmosphere for open
discussion. Parents shared their personal strategies for establishing family rules and
responsibilities, contributing to a rich exchange of ideas.
