🛣FREE TEEN DRIVER TRAINING 🚘 – Want to get your teen enrolled in a FREE half-day advanced driver training clinic at Manheim Orlando on April 22 or 23 with Ford Driving Skills for Life? This training will help your teen driver improve their skills in a controlled, safe environment with professional instructors.

🛣 Distracted driving is ANYTHING that takes your HANDS off the wheel, your EYES off the road, or your MIND off the task of driving. Make the choice to be a safe driver by always paying full attention to the road. 👀🙌🧠🚘

🚩 Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) laws allow teen drivers to safely gain driving experience under lower-risk conditions before obtaining full driving privileges.

👎 Not wearing a seat belt makes you 30x more likely to be ejected from a vehicle during a crash. More than 3 out of 4 people who are ejected during crash die from their injuries. ☠️

➡️ Buckle up: every trip, every time!

⁉️ For every 10 mph over 50 mph, the risk of being involved in a traffic crash is doubled. Slow down and be sure to obey all posted speed limits. 🚫🚗💨

✨Alcohol can alter a driver’s ability, perception, attention, balance, coordination, reaction time, and the other skills needed to drive alert and safe. ✨

⁉️ The National Safety Council estimates that drivers under the age of 25 are involved in at least 50% of drowsy driving crashes. Teens are especially susceptible to drowsy driving, as they need more sleep than adults in adolescence, and they often stay up late and wake up early for school. 😴🚫🚗

‼️ Call the number on the Blue and White Emergency Notification System (ENS) sign and share the crossing ID number with the dispatcher. No sign? Dial 911. 🚒

⚠️ Multiple tracks may mean multiple trains. Ensure you can clearly see down the tracks in both directions before proceeding. 🚅 🚃

September 19th-23rd is Start with Hello week! Swipe to see what you can do to help someone that you think may need some help 💚

🚂 Never try to beat a train. Trains always have the right-of-way, and the train you see is closer and faster-moving than you think. Be aware that trains cannot stop quickly. 🚅💨

⛔ Never drive around lowered gates — it’s illegal and deadly. 💀

Today through September 23rd is Start with Hello Week. Start with hello, change someone’s life!

🚩 Trains overhang their tracks. When driving, leave at least 15 feet between the front and rear of your vehicle and the nearest rail. Avoid shifting gears while crossing.

🚦Before crossing, be sure there is space on the other side to completely clear the tracks. 🛤️

🚉 September is Railroad Safety Month! 🛤️

✨The only safe and legal place for anyone to cross railroad tracks is at designated crossings. Always obey warning signs and signals. Always look for a train before proceeding. ✨

It’s back-to-school season in Florida! Be aware of children that may be entering or exiting a school bus. Drive carefully, and ensure you’re properly yielding for a stopped school bus displaying a “STOP” signal. Florida law also mandates that you be “hands-free” from cell phone usage when traveling through a school zone.

SADD Nation Student President, Shaina Finkel, will be cohosting a Youth Leadership Summit with STAND on Thursday, July 7th! It is free to register and lunch will be provided. They will be having guest speakers including Shaina, who will be teaching about how to identify issues in our community and how to use our voices to make a difference.
