FSU Senior Jason Shimer played an exquisite version of “Wings” by Joan Tower, and incoming MM Owen Robinson capped off the last student concert of GPSW’s College Edition with a beautiful reading of the last two movements of Stephen Banks’ “Come As You Are.” And in our second of our two last faculty concerts, FSU alum Beth King-Bennett absolutely slayed Andy Scott’s “Westland” tonight. Proud teacher moments and good fun abounded this week!!

FSU Saxos in high demand 👀

A few of our studio members, Jared Cummings (DM ‘24), Parker Button (BM ‘27), AJ Nguyen (DM ‘26) and Matthew James (DM ‘26) performing this past week in doctoral chamber recitals (Jared and Matt) and the Polymorphia concert (Parker and AJ).

Nothing to see here, just a few FSU Saxos in their element this past Wednesday at our final studio recital of the semester. One week left for the semester, just keep on waddling to the finish line.

Not a ton of big saxophone moments on this past week’s Wind Ensemble Concert, but they still sounded great and principal Jack Blumer played a beautiful supportive solo during FSU Trombone Fsculty soloist Hana Beloglavec’s concerto. Great job, saxos!
