Around 15% of Americans experience some level of hearing loss due to their environments. Here are some tips to help keep your hearing near 100%.
Tip #1: Consider following the 60/60 rule when using headphones by keeping the volume at or below 60% and using them for no longer than 60 minutes per day!
Tip #2: Rest your ears. Researchers have found that your ears need around 16 hours of rest after prolonged periods in loud environments in order to recover.
Tip #3: Manage your stress levels. The seemingly random, high-pitched and continuous ringing we sometimes hear is called tinnitus, and it is often the result of pressure put on our nerves during times of stress!
